New releases: Dead Can Dance’s first album in 16 years, plus Ride, Sparks, 45 Grave

BACKSTORY:  Co-founders Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard have reunited for a just-launched world tour and this new eight-song record, out this week, that marks the duo’s first new album in 16 years. RELEASE: Going Blank Again: 20th Anniversary Edition
BACKSTORY: The seminal British shoegazers this week release, in the U.K., a 20th anniversary reissue of their sophomore album that will packaged with the DVD debut of the 1992 VHS release “Going Blank Again: Live at Brixton Academy” featuring newly mixed and edited audio (see full tracklist here).

RELEASE: Shortcuts: The 7-Inch MixesExtended: The 12-Inch Mixes
BACKSTORY:  The brothers Mael this week release, in the U.K., a pair of two-disc anthologies that collect both their band’s 7-inch A- and B-sides as well as their 12-inch remixes, all spanning the years 1979 to 1984. The sets include the tracks “All You Ever Think About Is Sex,” “Modesty Plays” and “Tryouts for the Human Race,” among others.

ARTIST : 45 Grave
RELEASE: Pick Your Poison
BACKSTORY: The long-dormant deathrock pioneers return this week with their first album of new material in more than 19 years, which finds founding member Dinah Cancer collaborating with a new lineup that features Adolescents founding member Frank Agnew on guitar. Tracks include “Night of the Demons,” “Child of Fear” and “Akira.”
