Depeche Mode expected to release ‘Heaven’ — first single off new album — on Feb. 5

Depeche Mode hasn’t offered much information yet on its upcoming 13th studio album — it’s due in March, but no title, tracklist or cover art has been revealed — but that could soon be changing as the band is expected to release “Heaven,” the record’s first single, on Feb. 5, according to listings at Amazon sites worldwide.

No official announcement has been made, but is taking pre-orders on a “Heaven” CD single and CD maxi single for release Feb. 5 on the band’s new label, Columbia Records. Amazon’s U.K. and German sites also show CD singles being released on that day. It is not believed “Heaven” is the same, untitled song that Depeche Mode previewed last fall.

Following the release of the new record, Depeche Mode will embark on an already-announced European tour, opening May 7 in Tel Aviv, to be followed by a full North American trek later in the summer or in early fall, details of which are still to be announced.

  1. This is it for Depeche Mode. They haven’t had a decent song out since ‘Playing the Angel’ which was the last decent record since SFAD.

I’m really hoping these guys can deliver, because you know live it will be same greatest hits they always play, 20 song set. Yawn.

    • Regarding their last tour:

“In total the band played to more than 2.7 million people across 32 countries and the tour was one of the most profitable in America in 2009.”

That’s for 102 shows. Guess people want to hear those greatest hits, 20 song sets.

  2. It was a great tour, but the do need to change it up a little. Them and Duran play the same songs with very litter divergence.

  3. I find it kind of mysterious the final song on the cd is titled “Goodbye”. Makes me wonder if this is the last album or is Martin just getting us speculating again placing it there.

  4. super thrilled to see depeche mode releasing new music again! the new album’s going to be great. check out their “heaven” video on their website:
