Linkage: Flaming Lips cover Stone Roses LP, dueling Black Flags, Primal Scream, Pulp

A collection of some interesting links we recently stumbled across:

Flaming Lips To Cover Stone Roses Debut Album? There is some evidence to suggest that the Lips, amongst their many other current projects, are spearheading a full-album cover of The Stone Roses’ 1989 debut album, similar to the band’s previous remake of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Judge the clues for yourself. [Stereogum]

Two Black Flag Reunions Set for Summer The seminal L.A. punk band is reuniting in two different forms this summer, with Greg Ginn leading one incarnation fronted by singer Ron Reyes and a second, to be called simply Flag, featuring the band’s original lead singer, Keith Morris, and bassist Chuck Dukowski. Primal Scream Announce New Album ‘More Light’ Frontman Bobby Gillespie revealed last week during a BBC interview that the Scream’s new album will be called More Light and is due out May 6. He has previously said, “It’s a rock ‘n’ roll record, but modern rock ‘n’ roll. Pretty psychedelic rock, it’s kind of guitar-driven but we use guitars in an orchestral way, not in the normal way people make rock records.” [NME]

Pulp Performs ‘After You’ Live on Jonathon Ross The Britpop heroes recently performed their new single “After You” — an old demo recently finished off with the help of James Murphy — on Jonathan Ross’ show in the U.K. Check out the video. [Strangeways Radio]
