Alison Moyet announces extensive U.K. tour for ‘the minutes,’ but U.S. shows unlikely

Alison Moyet, 'the minutes'

Former Yazoo frontwoman Alison Moyet today announced an extensive, 24-date tour of the U.K. and Ireland this fall in support of her upcoming album the minutes — that’s the just-revealed cover art posted above — and said the concerts will place the new album “center stage” and focus on “significant electronic material in her back catalog.”

Fans in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world shouldn’t hold their breath, though: According to the singer’s Facebook page, “there are no plans at this stage for tour dates beyond these.”

Due out May 6, the 11-song album (see full tracklist below) will be Moyet’s first since releasing The Turn in 2007, and her first since re-teaming with Erasure’s Vince Clarke for a rapturously received 2008 Yazoo  reunion tour and subsequent live album. Check out the first single, “Changeling,” over here.

Moyet’s fall tour opens Sept. 30 in Cork, Ireland, and continues for a full month, hitting London, Glasgow, Dublin and more, and wrapping up Oct. 31 in Bournemouth (see dates below).
