Friends of Game Theory’s Scott Miller launch fund to support daughters’ education

Scott Miller of Game Theory

In the wake of the untimely death last week of Scott Miller — the 53-year-old frontman of ’80s college-rock act Game Theory and later, through much of the ’90s, The Loud Family — friends have launched an online funding drive to raise money to support the “educational future” of his daughters Valerie, 10, and Julianne, 7.

Jozef Becker writes: “Scott’s family and friends are bereft and grieving, but many dear friends have expressed their concern, commitment and dedication to providing some financial support for the educational future of Valerie and Julianne, and in honor of Scott” (see full statement below).

The campaign, on the gofundme.com website, has a goal of raising $45,000. As of Wednesday morning — two days after its launch — 269 people had donated a total of $25,342.

TO DONATE: Scott Miller Family Memorial Fund

Scott Miller Family Memorial Fund

We lost a dear friend and the world lost a brilliant and talented musician suddenly on April 15, 2013. Scott Miller left behind his beautiful wife Kristine and daughters Valerie (age 10) and Julianne (age 7). In addition to his musical gifts, Scott was also a valued, talented and dedicated engineer with Mark Logic in San Carlos, California. Scott was the sole provider and dedicated father and husband to his girls and Kristine.

Scott’s family and friends are bereft and grieving, but many dear friends have expressed their concern, commitment and dedication to providing some financial support for the educational future of Valerie and Julianne, and in honor of Scott.

Whatever gift or donation you can make is sincerely appreciated. If you are unable to donate, just hold the love for this man and his family in your hearts; it means a lot to all of us.

In love and peace,

Jozef Becker and Kate Flynn Becker and Nan Becker

  1. Response to this fund has been tremendous so far. Please consider giving as a gesture of support for Scott’s family in this difficult time, and gratitude for the musical gifts Scott shared with us during his too-short life. Thank you!

I’ll pledge $500 — but only on the condition that you tell us how Scott died.

Replying to Wizzle. Are you always such a rude, worthless POS, or did Internet anonymity make you lose your classiness?

I gotta scrape it together for my own two kids, but your comment puts a bug on me. Im a going to pitch in, no strings. Keep your 500. Teach your children to not be like you.
