Mark Burgess this week announced he’ll release a brand-new four-song EP this fall under the ChameleonsVox banner — the latest incarnation of post-punk favorites The Chameleons, also featuring long-serving drummer John Lever — later this fall to coincide with a series of dates across Europe this November and December.
Titled M+D=1(8), the EP will feature three new original songs — “Sycophants, “Heaven” and “Feel the Need” — plus a cover of The Beatles classic “Across the Universe.” A release date hasn’t been set, but pre-orders for the CD release eventually will be taken through the band’s online store at blueapplemusic.co.uk.
The disc will be a numbered, limited-edition release, the band notes, “so when they’re gone, they’re gone.”
The band embarks on a European tour next month, opening a run of 13 dates on Nov. 8 in Paris, and performing in Germany, Ireland and the U.K., before wrapping up Dec. 8 in London.
