BACKSTORY: Omnivore Recordings this week reissues Minneapolis alt-rockers’ 1986 debut and 1988 follow-up in expanded form with a combined 16, mostly unreleased, bonus tracks between the two titles.

BACKSTORY: The first batch of Bad Seeds 180-gram vinyl reissues arrive this week, with a second round of titles coming in February.

BACKSTORY: Released earlier this fall, the Melvins’ latest album — which finds Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover joined by the Butthole Surfers’ Paul Leary and JD Pinkus — arrives on 180-gram vinyl this week.


MisfitsThe Misfits

RELEASE: Project 1950
BACKSTORY: The Misfits’ 2003 collection of ’50s-era covers gets an expanded reissue this week on 180-gram vinyl with three more never-before-released bonus tracks and all new cover art.

    Omnivore Records seems to be the go-to label for great reissues – I’ve been following their Game Theory re-releases and they are produced with amazing care, with lots of previously unreleased tracks, great liner notes and sound as good as it possibly can be.
