Ride expands North American tour in support of new album ‘Weather Diaries’

Reunited shoegazers Ride have expanded their North American tour in support their upcoming new album Weather Diaries, following up their short run of July concerts with seven more shows in the U.S. and Mexico in late September and early October.

The newly announced stretch of shows opens Sept. 20 in Denver and wraps up Oct. 2 in Mexico, hitting Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles in between.

Ride — Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence “Loz” Colbert and Steve Queralt — announced plans to reunite in late 2014, then toured the U.S. and Europe in 2015. Late last year, the band announced it would record a follow-up to 1996’s Tarantula. That album, Weather Diaries, is due out on June 16.

The band debuted two new tracks — “Charm Assault” and “Home is a Feeling,” both produced by Erol Alkan and mixed by Alan Moulder — in February.

  1. !!!The Chicago show!!! Why do they have to latch onto the Pitchfork Festival? Those cooler indie youngsters will have no appreciation for Ride. The Aragon would have suited them perfectly. Oh well…I’ll save some funds and drink up at the Bunnymen/Femmes gig aka “The Violent Bunnymen Tour”.
