Cold Waves L.A.: RevCo, Stabbing Westward, Meat Beat Manifesto, Front Line Assembly

As it approaches its sixth year in Chicago, industrial-music festival Cold Waves has announced its inaugural Los Angeles edition, a two-day event featuring Stabbing Westward, Revolting Cocks (performing 1986’s Big Sexy Land), Front Line Assembly, Meat Beat Manifesto and more.

The festival will take place Nov. 10 and 11 at the Regent Theater, and also features MC 900 Ft. Jesus, Cubanate, Crash Course in Science, 16Volt, Boy Harsher, Ascension of the Watchers, Not Breathing and Kanga. A special Nov. 9 kickoff event is still to be announced.

As for Revolting Cocks, it’s not yet clear who all will be involved. Last year, founders and former members Richard 23, Luc Van Acker, Paul Barker and Chris Connelly played a short U.S. tour — without Al Jourgensen — as The Cocks to mark the 30th anniversary of Big Sexy Land.

Tickets for Cold Waves L.A. go on sale 10 a.m. Pacific on Friday.

As for the main event, Cold Waves VI — billed as “a celebration of Chicago’s relationship with industrial music” — is set for Sept. 29, 30 and Oct. 1 at Chicago’s Metro and Smart Bar, and features Front 242, KMFDM, Stabbing Westward, Cold Cave, ohGr, Severed Heads, Assemblage 23 and more.
