RELEASE: It’s Alive: 40th Anniversary Edition
BACKSTORY: Rhino Records this week releases an expanded 4CD/2LP 180-gram vinyl reissue of the Ramones’ classic live album, appending the original release with three more unreleased live sets from 1977.

RELEASE:  Spirit Counsel
BACKSTORY: The Sonic Youth founder releases a 3CD set of new work. Each disc features an extended composition recorded in 2018 or 2019, representing “a period of reflection on spiritual matters, collective musical friendships.”

RELEASE: Paradise
BACKSTORY: The German industrial group — still led by Sascha Konietzko — this week releases its 21st studio album, an 11-song collection featuring the songs “Oh My Goth,” “No Regret” and “Disturb the Peace.”

RELEASE: Swoon, From Langley Park To Memphis, Jordan: The Comeback, A Life Of Surprises
BACKSTORY: Sony this week reissues, in the U.K., three studio albums from Paddy McAloon and Co., plus a 1991 best-of, on vinyl. Each title is remastered.

    Question: Is Dead Man’s Pop up for Reissue of the Year AND Album of the Year?! If so, it gets both of my votes. Can’t stop listening to this!
