The much-anticipated North American “Unity Tour” by electronic-music giants New Order and Pet Shop Boys has been hit with a second year-long delay due to “continuing uncertainty caused by the COVID pandemic, ” the two groups announced Tuesday.

The tour, now 13 dates, had been scheduled for September and October of 2020, then was pushed a year to September and October of 2021 once the magnitude of pandemic-related shutdowns became clear.

Now the tour has been delayed until fall 2022.

The co-headlining tour — with the shows’ closing act rotating each night — will now open Sept. 17, 2022, in Toronto and wrap up in Vancouver, B.C., on Oct. 16, 2022, with stops in between in Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, Columbia, Md., Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Tickets for the 2021 shows will be honored at the 2022 dates, though there are two changes to the itinerary. The bands have added a second New York City show, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and moved the date from The Gorge in George, Wash., to Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena. Tickets for those latter two shows go on sale Friday, June 4, at 10 a.m. local time.

The two groups have also added DJ Paul Oakenfold as an opening act.
