  1. I was just listening to Only Shallow this morning, and I don’t listen to MBV enough. I love With Sympathy and it is a shame I will never see any of it performed live. Thank you so very much for Physical. NIN is always a welcome treat.

To commemorate seeing the Sisters of Mercy at the Roundhouse almost exactly two years ago on my honeymoon (liminal experience in part due to Mr. Eldritch’s poor performance, per what I had been told), could I please request:

Sister’s of Mercy- First and Last and Always

Please and thank you as always, good sir.

  2. Hi Matt! I request
Happy Birthday by The Birthday Massacre

    Great episode tonight, Goodnight!

  3. Anything by the Buzzcocks

  10. haunted when the minutes drag

MBV, the Stone Roses, and the Smiths in one show. Do I wake or dream????

  11. Awesome show. Can you play Do Right by Cabaret Voltaire?. I particularly like the 2013 remaster from the #8385 83-85 compilation. But heck you can choose anything off that joint and it will make me happy. The tunes have such a vibe.

  12. Hi Matt – never miss a show! My other request was not played so I can only assume it was bc you have an intense dislike of the song- I don’t think I’ve noticed that note before haha

Trying again and maybe it’s an illegal one as I believe the song is technically from the 90s but they had made a name for themselves in the 80s:

    Einstürzende Neubauten
    The Interimlovers

  13. Komputer—Valentina. (When Kraftwerk stopped making new music, these lads stepped up.)

  14. another great show – thank you! Any day hearing Holiday in Cambodia is a good day to me. BTW, hasn’t uncle Al mellowed a bit in recent years when it comes to With Sympathy?

A request – the Screamadelica 30th anniversary release is imminent, and on it is a never-before-released Andrew Weatherall remix of Shine Like Stars. I may be biased, but it’s pretty freaking amazing – would be a good fit for the show I think!

  15. Scars Horrorshow would be good next month Matt

  24. Matt, you keep upping your game every week. It’s always great to hear Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. If you have time in a future episode, it would be great to hear one (or both) of these.

Cocteau Twins – Alas Dies Laughing
    Dead Can Dance – Ocean

Thank you for always keeping it dark. Cheers!

  25. Great show. The industrial block was great. Nice inclusion of Holiday in Cambodia!

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    The Cure, “Harold and Joe”

“If I’m falling down a mountain
    Then I pick myself up”

  29. RIP Richard H Kirk. Should be an entire show of Richard H Kirk/Cabaret Voltaire this Sunday night. Can’t do that ? How about an entire hour. Absolute pioneer and HUGE influence of so many of our favorite bands.
