50 Foot Wave — Kristin Hersh’s trio featuring her Throwing Muses bandmate Bernard Georges on bass and drummer Rob Ahlers — will release a brand-new, seven-track album called Black Pearl in April, the group’s first new music in six years.
Stream the ragged first single, “Staring Into the Sun,” and check out a video trailer for the album below.
The new album is due out April 15 via Fire Records and will include a turquoise-vinyl pressing that’s available for preorder now via the label’s website.
Hersh will support the new album by going out on a solo tour, starting with an appearance at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, in March before spending late April and May touring the U.K. and Europe, the first half of which will be solo-electric, then a run of dates billed as solo-acoustic.
