Former Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison and touring sideman Adrian Belew have expanded their tour performing the band’s classic 1980 album Remain In Light by adding a second leg of co-headlining dates with Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade this June.

Harrison and Belew, who played on Remain in Light toured with the Talking Heads’ expanded lineup in 1980 and 1981, previously announced a headlining tour and festival appearances from February through May. The new dates with the Primus frontman’s newly resurrected side project begin June 2 and run through June 20.

See full dates below.

Harrison and Belew first teamed up to play material from Remain in Light with the band Turkuaz at a festival in 2021, an appearance that marked Harrison’s first live performance since 1996. For this year’s tour, the duo’s band will include former Turkuaz members Julie Slick on bass and Yahuba Garcia-Torres on percussion.

Of the project, Harrison says in the press release announcing the new dates:

Remain In Light is a high point in my career. Adrian and I had often discussed the magic of the 1980 tour and the sheer joy it brought to audiences. It is such a delight to see that joy once again in the audiences on the current tour.”

Belew adds:

“A joyful show of Talking Heads songs you know and love performed by a hot, 11-piece ensemble including Jerry and me. You can’t help but dance and go home with a happy smile on your face.”

The Talking Heads split up in 1991 when frontman David Byrne left the band, and only have reunited once, for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

The rhythm section of Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz has continued to make music together as Tom Tom Club. In 1996, they made an album with Harrison as The Heads with a variety of guest vocalists, and toured with Concrete Blonde’s Johnette Napolitano as their singer, performing new songs and Talking Heads classics.
