It took 35 years for Kate Bush to follow up her lone tour, but she returned to the stage in London last night for her first full performance since May 14, 1979, performing a highly theatrical, 22-song set that featured nearly all of her classic LP Hounds of Love, the second side of Aerial and a few other selections.

The first tease of Kate Bush’s upcoming ‘Director’s Cut’ album — which revisits tracks from ‘The Sensual World’ and ‘The Red Shoes’ — has surfaced online: a 30-second sample of the new version of ‘Deeper Understanding’ that finds Bush’s incomparable vocals run through Auto-Tune on the chorus.
Kate Bush is set to reissue four key albums — 1982’s ‘The Dreaming,’ 1985’s ‘Hounds of Love,’ 1989’s ‘The Sensual World’ and 1993’s ‘The Red Shoes’ — later this year as rumors continue to swirl that she plans to release brand-new material in 2011 as well.
Today we commemorate the 52nd birthday of the incomparable Kate Bush with what’s arguably her most indelible song: ‘Running Up That Hill,’ performed with David Gilmour at 1987’s ‘Secret Policeman’s Third Ball.’
