The Godfathers set first U.S. tour in 20 years, St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in New York

The Godfathers, circa 2010

For the first time in 20 years, The Godfathers will tour the U.S. in February, a short 10-date trek that includes the U.K. rockers’ annual St. Valentine’s Day Massacre — which we’re thrilled to announce as the first Slicing Up Eyeballs Presents concert — at Santos Party House in New York.

The tour, which we first touched on in December, hits the East and Midwest, opening Feb. 9 in St. Louis and wrapping up Feb. 19 in Toledo (see full dates below). It appears this is the entirety of the tour; on the band’s Facebook page, frontman Peter Coyne posted, “Let’s get these U.S. dates under our belts FIRST & then DO the rest of America”

The reunited band tried to tour the U.S. in 2009, but scrapped most of that planned eight-date trek, blaming the global economic crisis. The one show, however, the band still played was the first-ever U.S. installment of the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, held in Chicago — the group’s first American concert in 20 years.

The Godfathers last fall released Shot Live at the 100 Club, a live CD/DVD document of the band’s 25th anniversary concert last summer. The group also has been working on the follow-up to 1995’s Afterlife, expected out sometime this year.
