British New Wave stars The Psychedelic Furs are rolling out concert dates across the West, Southwest and East Coast as part of a new U.S. tour planned for this fall, and they’ll be joined for at least some of the shows in October by Evan Dando and The Lemonheads — with former member Juliana Hatfield back on bass.
The Furs so far only have announced dates in September, and neither that band nor The Lemonheads have formally unveiled plans to tour together, but the Blake Babies co-founder tweeted the news last night, writing, “oh yeah–lemonheads –trio, me on bass, supporting psychedelic furs– october..more on this later.”
Hatfield, who played on The Lemonheads’ best-known album, It’s a Shame About Ray, has been playing acoustic gigs with Dando in recent years.
A quick scan of the web reveals only one confirmed date so far paring the Furs and The Lemonheads: Port Chester, N.Y., on Oct. 20. We did find, however, three other Furs concerts set for October in Portland, Seattle and Pensacola, Fla., that have yet to be announced by the band.
We’ll update with further dates as they emerge.
