The first of weekend of the newly expanded Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival kicked off last night, and one of the most anticipated acts was Pulp. Their set, like many others’, was webcast last night, and now thanks to this capture of that livestream, you can watch the full 10-song, hour-long performance.

John Lydon this week unveiled the tracklist for the first new Public Image Ltd. album in 20 years, a 12-track, self-financed record called ‘This Is PiL’ that will be preceded by the previously announced Record Store Day vinyl EP that will include four of the tracks earmarked for the new full-length collection.

Punk giant Joey Ramone shuffled off the stage more than a decade ago, but that’s not getting in the way of the release next month of his sophomore album ‘…Ya Know?’ — which will be preceded by a Record Store Day release of lead-off track ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Is The Answer’ on red-vinyl 7-inch, which you now stream right here.

Last September, we gave away a copy of the CD-and-vinyl version of The Smiths’ ‘Complete’ box set to one lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs reader, and now, with the newly remastered albums released individually, the fine folks at Rhino Records have provided us with three copies of the 8-disc CD box set to give away.

The next book in the ever-expanding 33⅓ series of album dissections finds celebrated novelist Jonathan Lethem tackling Talking Heads’ 1979 classic ‘Fear of Music’ — and while the 160-page book won’t arrive until later this month, you can now read the first 23 pages online.

Synthpop pioneers Heaven 17 — Martyn Ware and Glenn Gregory — will follow up last fall’s first-ever front-to-back performances of their1983 album ‘The Luxury Gap’ by mounting a nine-date U.K. tour this October and November that’ll find the group playing the record in its entirety each night.

This week’s Slicing Up Eyeballs show on Strangeways Radio featured new and previously unreleased music from Dalis Car, World Party, Squeeze and Peter Gabriel, plus old favorites from The House of Love, Billy Bragg, Section 25, Aztec Camera, The Blue Aeroplanes, The Jasmine Minks and The Cure.

Gorman Bechard, director of the 2011 documentary ‘Color Me Obsessed: A Film About The Replacements,’ is next setting his filmmaking sights on Grant Hart, and has begun raising money from fans to fund a planned new film called ‘Every Everything’ about the former Hüsker Dü drummer, singer and songwriter.

Pulp kicked off its first trip to the U.S. since 1998 with a performance on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ last night, trotting out Britpop national anthem ‘Common People’ for broadcast and then playing ‘Like a Friend’ — the band’s contribution to the soundtrack of the 1998 film version of ‘Great Expectations’ — for the show’s website.

Morrissey fans in the U.K. will get just one chance to see the singer in concert this year — on July 28, when he plays a hometown arena show in Manchester. The date, announced over the weekend via fansite True To You, goes on sale 9 a.m. April 27, and is billed as ‘Morrissey’s only U.K. concert of 2012.’
