It’s been a big year for fans of Bob Mould’s post-Hüsker Dü act Sugar, with competing — and slightly different — sets of CD reissues out in the U.S. and U.K., plus live performances of Copper Blue around the world. Now, the U.K.’s Demon Music Group is compiling the band’s complete recordings in an 8-record audiophile vinyl set.
With Bob Mould out on tour this fall supporting both his excellent new studio album and celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sugar’s beloved Copper Blue, the fine folks at Merge Records have hooked us up with a full set of the recently released Sugar reissues to award one lucky Slicing Up Eyeballs reader.
This week’s new releases include the U.S. reissue of Sugar’s catalog, a live CD/DVD from Propaganda’s Claudia Brücken, a live CD from Happy Mondays, an audiophile vinyl pressing of Yazoo’s ‘Upstairs at Eric’s,’ the U.S. release of Peter Gabriel’s ‘Secret World Live,’ and reissues of Icehouse’s ‘Primitive Man’ and ‘Man of Colours.’

With expanded reissues of Sugar’s catalog — 1992′s landmark ‘Copper Blue,’ the 1993 companion EP ‘Beaster’ and 1994 sophomore album ‘File Under: Easy Listening’ — coming out over the next few weeks in the U.K., Merge Records has announced it will release trimmed-down versions in the U.S. later this summer.
