New releases: Stone Roses 20th anniversary reissue, Erasure ‘Club’ EP, ZE Records comp

BACKSTORY: The U.S. editions of the 20th anniversary reissue of the Roses’ debut have been pushed to Sept. 8, but the album is out this week in the U.K. in four formats: a single-disc “Special Edition,” a 2CD/1DVD “Legacy Edition,” a 3CD/1DVD/3LP/USB drive “Collectors’ Edition” and a gatefold vinyl edition.

BACKSTORY: On this CD and digital EP, the band has compiled remastered versions of six of the seven rare club mixes it sent out to DJs in 1990 on three separate promo-only 12-inches. The collection originally was to include the seventh mix, but Mute couldn’t get clearance.

BACKSTORY: The famed No Wave label is celebrated with this new comp, collecting ’80s-era cuts from the likes of Suicide, James Chance and the Contortions, Was (Not Was), Alan Vega and Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
