RELEASE: The Great Escape Artist
BACKSTORY: The alt-rock legends return this week with their second post-reunion album, a 10-track set that was assisted on bass and production by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek. The deluxe edition of the album comes with a second disc bearing an 11-song live concert (stream first single “Irresistible Force” here).

RELEASE: Complete: CD Box Set, Complete: Vinyl Box Set

RELEASE: “We All Go Back To Where We Belong”
BACKSTORY: The now-defunct college rock icons this week release — digitally — what may by their final single, one of three brand-new songs recorded for their upcoming 40-song best-of Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011which arrives in stores on Nov. 15  (stream “We All Go Back To Where We Belong” here).

ARTIST : The Japanese Popstars
RELEASE: Take Forever
BACKSTORY:  The Irish electronic act this week releases a remix EP of the single it recorded with Robert Smith of The Cure on lead vocals. The digital release includes the original version of the track plus four remixes, including Smith’s own RS@Home Mix (stream several of the mixes, including Smith’s, here).

ARTIST : Pop Will Eat Itself
RELEASES: This Is The Day… This Is The Hour… This Is This! Expanded Edition, The PWEI Cure for Sanity: Expanded Edition
BACKSTORY:  Cherry Red this week reissues the 1989 sophomore album and the 1990 follow-up from the U.K. alt-rockers, each expanded with a bonus disc filled with home demos, rare tracks and cuts never before available on CD, as well as new sleeve notes by band members.

ARTIST : The Proclaimers
RELEASE: This Is The Story: Collectors’ Edition, Sunshine on Leith: Collectors’ Edition, Hit the Highway: Collectors’ Edition
BACKSTORY: The Scottish twins this week reissue their first three albums, each remastered and including a bonus disc featuring B-sides, live tracks and previously unreleased radio sessions.
