Depeche Mode announce South By Southwest Q&A to discuss ‘Delta Machine,’ world tour

Depeche Mode

Depeche Mode today announced that it will follow up next week’s “Live at Letterman” album-launch concert with its first-ever appearance at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, where the band’s three members will participate in a Q&A session about their forthcoming album Delta Machine and plans to tour the world this year.

The session, to be moderated by KCRW music director Jason Bentley, is slated for 5 p.m. March 13 at the Austin Convention Center and is open to conference attendees.

No Depeche Mode performances at SXSW have been announced.

The band’s new album is due out March 26, and will be followed by a world tour. Details of DM’s planned North American leg are to be announced “in the coming weeks,” according to the group’s publicist.

A friend and I are going to go to SXSW just for the chance that we might get to see DM. Is there any possibility we could get into the interview? Is it likely they will announce a show? How might we find out it if so and possibly get on the list? We are crazy long-time fans…

  4. I heard Depeche were coming to SXSW this year, though the info I was given was limited. I was told in secret and I basically had to swear on my Depeche collection not to breathe a word. I scoured the internet for weeks, checking every day for any news or info. (I’m a huge fan. They’ve been my favourite since I was 13). I held off on buying a badge or wristband and now I really regret it =( I finally gave up on the notion of them coming after all just last weekend after the news of their show in New York on the 11th. Is there a way to get my name on a list to attend the interview and participate in the Q&A? It would mean the world to me… Please Mr. Bently.
