  1. Scarlet – Lush

  2. This was an excellent New Year’s Mix tonight, Matt! I love the song by manufacture.
Happy New Year from Las Vegas!

  3. Enjoyed the mixes!

    Here are some requests –

The Gun Club – Brother and Sister
    Pixies – I Bleed

    Thanks!

  4. Happy New Year. Got to give it to Hour 3 this time. The Joy Division/Grace Jones back to back with one of my favorite Nitzer Ebb mixes and Manufacture. Great way to start the year.

Want to ask for something from the 415 Records catalog on a future show please. Wire Train “Chamber of Hellos” or something from Until December. Maybe “Until December” or their cover of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”.

Thanks and have a good first week of 2023.

    • Grace Jones and the Compass Point Allstars ! Chris Blackwell’s recent memoir is both laudatory and respectful to her. What great song choices she made on those Island records.

  5. Thirwell 99

Burney–crazy, I was just humming “Until December” today for some reason. Great tune!

    • I totally forgot about that band – Until Decmber. If I’m not mistaken, I saw them open up for Gene Loves Jezebel at The Copa in Toronto – like 1986-ish.

Matt–Edit the Shake is always perfect. You could play it every week and I would never tire of it. Stellar playlist, as usual.

  7. Grace Jones and the Compass Point Allstars ! Chris Blackwell’s recent memoir is both laudatory and respectful to her. What great song choices she made on those Island records.

  8. Happy New Year all! Enjoyed the mix show tonight. Heard some stuff I haven’t heard in awhile. For next weeks show I’d love to hear Cat Rapes Dog – “Speeding Jesus”. Would be great if you can play that on an upcoming show. Thanks Matt!

  9. Bauhaus – Swing the Heartache

  10. For next week’s show, could you play either “The Spangle Maker” or “Crushed” by Cocteau Twins?

  11. Jason Brown

Please consider “Sanity ” by Killing Joke!

  12. Super awesome New Year’s extended mix set Matt!!!! Thank you for another year of great music and atmosphere. I love your show! I’ve gone ahead and just copied my picks from last week to this week! Some ‘uplifting’ dark wave is in order I think….

    Love and Rockets – Saudade
Depeche Mode – But Not Tonight
    The Cure – Fight

    Thanks as always! 。◕‿◕。

  13. What a fun show Matt, that was great. I was thinking earlier in the day that I wanted to request Knife Slits Water for next week and then there it was, so cool! Also really loved that conclusion to hour 1 with the glorious full version of Elegia and then Section 25 and The Other Two, so good.

Request for next week – I am gonna have to second Tina above, those are three great selections, especially But Not Tonight. And you got me thinking about another legendary Manchester band, how about Hip Priest by The Fall.

    Happy New Year, cheers!

  14. Belated New Years song – how about Joy Division – New Dawn Fades?

I’m in the mood for some Skinny Puppy too. Assimilate (the version off the Chainsaw single) or Stairs and Flowers or Chainsaw.

    Thanks!

  15. Probably missing the cutoff but was wondering if you could play some Warlock Pinchers…don’t know how you feel about them- Denver grown, but the whole Morrisey thing, so curious your opinions on them. If not the Pinchers then perhaps Foreskin 500, as the lineage goes.

  16. Damn, Cat Rapes Dog. Been a long time since that name has surfaced. Such a crazy name, right?

  17. I’d love to hear more Razormaid mixes

  18. Gappy New Year! Great show loce all the remixes. Would like to request the song Inquisition by Skinny Puppy or IED by Front Line Assembly, sucj cool vocals on the song. Thank you

  19. Great remix/extended tracks this New Years. I loved the Sugarcubes and Cult remixes.

Could you play Somewhere By the Danse Society?
    Great show as always.

  20. Great episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Blancmange, “Game Above My Head”

“Don’t ask me what’s on my mind
For the truth you’ll never ever find”

  21. Another bizarre feline band name- Doctor’s Cat. Strange Italo disco. “Feel the Drive” would make an interesting future selection…

  22. Matt – Happy 2023! What an amazing show…….. the full-length version of Elegia really takes you to a special place, thanks so much for playing it!!!

    Cheers, JR
