Got a request? To be considered for next week’s show, drop it in the comments below by noon Tuesday. Requests will be considered as long as they fit the show’s format and generally within the 1stWave era — and provided the host doesn’t harbor an intense dislike of the song.

  1. Kate Bush’s take on a traditional Irish folk song “My Lagan Love” for next Sunday’s show in honor of St. Paddy’s week

  2. It’s a tough call between Hour 1 and 2 tonight. Will have to go with Hour 1 by a hair. Great show.

Something from Red Lorry Yellow Lorry’s Blow please. “Heaven” or “Happy to See Me” would be great.

Thanks and have a good week.

    • Hi Matt, I’ve enjoyed your show for many years. Amazing set lists week after week. I would love to hear “I
      I’m Cold” by the Cure.

      Thanks Matt

  3. I loved hour 2 tonight. Great show!

    • Great show, Matt. That Spiritualized track was amazing. I’d love to hear ‘S. Day II.’ by Pink Turns Blue.

  4. Hey Matt!

Awesome show tonight! The older Modern English was marvelous (need to dig up my After the Snow CD now! Mesh and Lace too)

    A couple of new requests:
    Doubting Thomas – “F862” (… RIP D.R.G.)
Legendary Pink Dots – Nightingale (from their latest release, actually)

Thanks! Keep up the great work

  5. Hey, Matt
Here are some requests for your consideration.

Swans cover of “Love Will Tear Us Apart”
    Psychic TV “Just Like Arcadia”
    Death in June “Heaven Street”

  6. It was great to hear Shriekback, Gang of Four and of course, the Humans.

  7. People who died by Jim Carroll band

  8. Great show Matt!
Could you play something from a band I haven’t heard in a long time,

  9. Fantastic show as always. I usually end up listening to each Dark Wave broadcast two or three times a week. It’s simply the best thing out there. No suggestions this time, I’m just enjoying listening to everyone else’s requests. Everybody have a dark week!

    • Same here – I listen to the show numerous times during the week. Thanks Matt for the weekly dark soundtrack. Loved hearing those Spiritualized and JAMC tracks.

  10. Throwing Muses – The Burrow

  11. Awesome show yet again Matt. Cop Shoot Cop, wow! That was a very special treat. Hour 2 was amazing, thanks for playing The Telescopes. Also loved hearing the new The The single, I had not heard that yet, Matt Johnson still has it. Really enjoyed hearing Naked Raygun, The March Violets, and of course Gang of Four.

Looking forward to seeing The Church next week in SF, any chance for something from them next Sunday? One of your fave Church songs would be nice.

    Have a great week, cheers!

  12. Enjoyed the wide variety of songs this week!

    Here are some requests –

    Comsat Angels – Be Brave
    The Cramps – Caveman

  13. I got a request for next week’s show.
    Killing Joke – ‘Drug’

  14. Shiny Gnomes “Mogg in my Cellar”
Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub “And then she kissed her”, “Deep in Velvet”

  15. Hey Matt!! Thanks so much for playing my Bigod 20 request…that one brings me back to my club days on the dancefloor for sure!! Some possible suggestions for next time:

Depeche Mode – Fly on the Windscreen
Love and Rockets – No Big Deal
Siouxsie and the Banshees – Face to Face

    Thanks as always!! 。◕‿◕。

PS Have you ever considered having one of your loyal listeners make a guest appearance on the show or select songs for it? That would be super awesome!!

  16. Fantastic edition of Darkwave. Thanks for playing the Alice Donut track! The Bigod 20 track left me wanting more…. Ciccione Youth :)

  17. Great episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Spiritualized, “Cop Shoot Cop”

    Request for future show:
    Psyche, “Goodbye Horses”

(the 21st Century Duke ‘TM’ Extended Mix if possible)

  18. Thank you so much for playing my JAMC request! It made my night!
If you could play any of the following next week, I’d be eternally grateful!
Death in June: the Calling mk2
    The Legendary Pink Dots: Blacklist
The Mission: Stars Don’t Shine Withought You
Pink Turns Blue: Your Master is Calling
    Thank you so much!!!

  19. Loved hearing “Walk This Way” from Daniel Ash on the show! How about giving some love to Tones on Tail next weekend? Perhaps “War” or “Christian Says”? Thanks a lot! Love this show so much!

  20. Chris Davis

Just wanted to say thanks from a few weeks ago for letting me know about the Ministry tour coming up with Front Line Assembly and Gary Numan. I checked after and sure enough one of the few dates in the US is here in Austin so I snagged the tickets immediately and now three bands I never saw back in the day will be checked off my bucket list in one fell swoop!

I am requesting a song I haven’t heard on Dark Wave before but I think it would fit well in the industrial mix section.
Lords Of Acid: I Sit on Acid (Remix) from the Lust album.
The remix is preferred as it has some very nice Front 242 references in it.

In any case thanks again for the concert info – keep it up!

  21. Freddie Bingham

Jolene by the Sisters of Mercy

  22. I agree with everyone above…Hour 2 shreds this week Matt. Best way to start it with Lagartija Nick. How about Kitchens of Distinction- Angela’s Injection.

  23. Psychic TV: Godstar
Sisters of Mercy: Lucretia my Reflection
    Tones on Tails: Go
    Cabaret Voltaire: Don’t Argue

  24. Long live Dead Can Dance.

Consider Told You So by DM. Wish they might of considered Alan Wilder back, maybe next one

  25. Ministry. NIN. Revco. Skatenigs. Die Warzau.
All these bands are represented in an album that doesn’t get quite enough credit- Burning In Water, Drowning in Flame.
Made at Chicago Trax in 1991 by Texas based metal band Skrew, this is a collection of industrial giants that rivals that of any Pigface record.
Go look at the production lineup!
“Charlemagne” – could easily disguise as a Ministry b-side.
“Prey Flesh” – vintage Die Warzau.
“Sympathy For The Devil” – most effed up cover of this classic tune.
    “Poisonous” early metal rap.
But this is definitely Skrew! Too harsh for industrial fans, too industrial for metal purists.
Anything off this record would be cool!

Would also thumbs up Lords of Acid!! (I’ll save my gushes for another day)

  26. The Cure- Charlotte Sometimes
    Pretty please!
    Great show this week!

  27. Real Life- If I Were God Tonight
    Great show Matt

  28. Pacific – “Jetstream” (Album: “Inference”; Creation Records – impossible to find)

  29. Oh Wow I can’t believe it I can’t believe you played that ……. “Cop Shoot Cop” my absolute favorite Spiritualized song it’s in my top 20 favorite songs of all time. Wow. Anyways I would like to suggest “Normandy(On A Beach)”-The Waterfront (The Stone Roses) or “Rocket Ship”(Daniel Johnston Cover)- The Dead Milkmen

  30. “Wednesday Addams Boyfriend” By Tall Boys

Best Show On Sirius XM awesome line up
Requesting some Psychobilly along the lines of The Cramps

  31. Curve – Coast Is Clear
    JAMC – Everything’s Alright When You’re Down
GLJ – Rivers Edge or Upstairs

  32. Have not heard Siouxsie and the Banshees – Helter Skelter in a long time.
