Beggars Arkive this month resurrects its 5 Albums box set series with a new Peter Murphy title that collects his first five solo albums — 1986’s Should the World Fail to Fall Apart, 1988’s Love Hysteria, 1989’s Deep, 1992’s Holy Smoke and 1995’s Cascade — along with bonus tracks. This week’s new releases include new Beggars Archive ‘5 Albums’ box sets from Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilim and Gene Loves Jezebel, plus reissues of Peter Murphy’s ‘Love Hysteria’ and Soundgarden’s ‘Screaming Life’ and ‘Fopp’ EPs, plus a vinyl box set of The Jam albums and a CD box of Simple Minds records.
The third round of 5 Albums box sets from reissue label Beggars Archive — pitched to fans as “the last chance to present (these) albums as physical releases in the foreseeable future” — will collect full albums, singles and assorted bonus tracks from Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilim and Gene Loves Jezebel.
This week’s new releases include ‘5 Albums’ box sets from The Fall, The Icicle Works and Buffalo Tom, plus a 95-track digital ‘box set’ from The Replacements, the second album from Peter Buck’s Tired Pony, a new EP from John Foxx and Jori Hukkonen, and a vinyl reissue of Elvis Costello’s Brutal Youth.

Starting with collections from Love and Rockets and Gary Numan, Beggars Banquet this spring will launch a new series of five-album catalog box sets designed to help keep “slower selling titles” in print, an effort the label acknowledges “may be the last chance to present the albums as physical releases in the foreseeable future.”
