Gary Numan’s just about done with this North American tour to promote last year’s Splinter (Songs From a Broken Mind), but he’s still found time to slip out a new music video for the record’s “I Am Dust” — an effects-heavy clip that’s meant to recall the glitchy old days of VHS tapes with tracking problems.
Back on Oct. 16, Gary Numan dropped by Amoeba Music in Hollywood during his U.S. tour to plan an in-store set, video from which the independent record giant has just posted. ere, you can see Numan and his band perform two tracks off last year’s Splinter as well as his smash “Cars.”
After two short runs of U.S. dates this past fall, synth pioneer Gary Numan will return to North America next spring for a broader, 21-date tour in support of his just-released album Splinter (Songs From a Broken Mind) — a trek that will include his first-ever performance at the South By Southwest Music Conference.
This week’s new releases include brand-new studio albums from Kitchens of Distinction, Gary Numan and Galaxie 500’s Dean Wareham, plus live set from The Chills and John Foxx and The Maths, and a compilation of 30 years’ worth of material from Trevor Horn’s electro-pop label ZTT Records.
