BACKSTORY: The former Talking Heads leader and the ex-Housemartins bassist this week deliver their long-gestating, star-laden 22-track concept album about former Filipino first lady Imelda Marcos. The album is available as both a 2CD set and a deluxe edition featuring the CDs, a DVD with six music videos and a 100-page book.

BACKSTORY: The singer-songwriter this week releases this 3-years-in-the-making album, recorded with current back-up band The Venus 3 — R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, Young Fresh Fellows’ Scott McCaughey and ex-Ministry drummer Bill Rieflin — and featuring guest turns by the likes of The Smiths’ Johnny Marr and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin.

BACKSTORY: The Thin White Duke’s 1967 self-titled debut this week receives a 2CD reissue, with the original 14-track album appearing in both complete stereo and mono versions on the first disc. The set’s second disc features an additional 25 bonus tracks, including the pertinant A- and B-sides, BBC recordings, alternate mixes and more.

BACKSTORY: Originally released in the U.K. in 2008, the 2CD expanded reissue of the British pop act’s third album arrives in the U.S. this week. The set features seven bonus tracks (demos, B-sides and unreleased takes) on the first disc, and a 19-song live album recorded March 9, 1980, in London on the second disc.

The Colourfield, 'Deception'ARTIST: The Colourfield
RELEASES: Virgins & Philistines, Deception
BACKSTORY: The two mid-’80s albums recorded by Specials frontman Terry Hall’s post-Fun Boy Three outfit this week are reissued in single-disc expanded editions, with each title including the remastered original album plus the appropriate A- and B-sides, including an early appearance by Sinead O’Connor on the track “Monkey in Winter.”
