Playlist: Sirius XM’s ‘Dark Wave’ 12-hour Halloween ‘goth-a-thon,’ 10/31/10

Sirius XM's 1st Wave

As promised, Sirius XM’s classic-alternative hub 1st Wave celebrated Halloween on Sunday by devoting half the day to a hugely expanded 12-hour version of its weekly “Dark Wave” show. All in all, it was a nice spin on the usual 1st Wave formula, although less wide-ranging than a typical “Dark Wave” show (where was the industrial music usually featured?) and a bit on the repetitious side.

Case in point: Artists such as Siouxsie and the Banshees and The Sisters of Mercy were played seven or eight times — and individual tracks like Ministry’s “Everyday is Halloween,” Bauhaus’ “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” and Concrete Blonde’s “Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)” each were aired three separate times over the course of the show.

Below, you’ll find our best stab at the 12-hour playlist, assembled from a couple different sources and from a good chunk of time spent listening today. It’s probably still missing a few tracks, and a couple things may be out of order — but it’s a near-complete rundown.

“Dark Wave” usually airs Sundays from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern/7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pacific.
