The Wedding Present to reissue ’80s and ’90s output in expanded multi-disc sets

The Wedding Present circa 2013

The Wedding Present will embark on an extensive reissue campaign later this years as Edsel Records re-releases much of David Gedge and Co.’s ’80s and ’90s output — five albums, two compilations and an EP — in expanded multi-disc sets crammed with as-yet-unspecified bonus material in both audio and video form.

Tracklists are not yet available, but, according to the band’s publicist, the albums will be reissued “with original artwork, high-quality new packaging, previously unavailable bonus audio, plus new sleevenotes and ephemera from David Gedge’s extensive collection. Several of the packages will include DVDs with promo videos, TV footage and new interviews with David Gedge.”

Most of the sets — which vary from 3 to 4 discs, with all but the Mini EP including a DVD — are up for pre-order on Amazon.co.uk, with release dates that begin in late October and stretch into December.

We’ll update with tracklists as they become available.

As for the band’s current activities, the Weddoes are touring the U.K. this fall performing the tracks off their Hit Parade singles collection (see dates below).

  1. Seamonsters is a classic album. Looking forward to the reissue.

  2. Just saw on amazon.co.uk that these seems to have been pushed back to mid-spring 2014 (April/May)

  3. Seems like an endless story… release date on amazon.co.uk is now 15th September.
Does anyone have the slightest idea whether those deluxe editions will ever see the light of day?
