  1. A word about requests: 1st Wave is asking for each show’s playlist to be submitted a week earlier than in the past, so going forward, requests that are selected will be played a couple shows down the line rather than as soon as the next Sunday.

As always, thanks for listening… and requesting.

    • “Airwaves” by Kraftwerk for the week after next Sunday and “The Headmaster Ritual” by the Smiths/Morrissey for Morrissey’s birthday on 05/21/23. :)

    • Hi Matt, I would love to hear the song Compulsion by the band In The Nursery. Thanks for all you do!

    • Hural Knight

I have a request for Darkwave. Could you play Abecedrians Soil please and thank you.

    • Hi Matt. Angel of the Odd was a post punk L.A. Band that played local clubs in the 80’s and recorded a single and an album. They had songs on a few compilation albums as well. Played with Jane’s Addiction and Dead Milkman. Great to hear any music from this group. Thanks.

  2. “Airwaves” by Kraftwerk

  3. I enjoyed your show a great deal Matt! The set lists were outstanding! Your show has been a weekly ritual for me since it’s inception. I don’t think I’ve ever missed a show except when I was in Greece on vacation. I would love to hear “ A Short Term Affect” by the Cure if possible.
    Thanks,
    Phil

  4. “Kooler Than Jesus” – My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult
    Thanks Matt

  5. Awesome show! Would love to request Skinny Puppy Optimmised.

  6. Skinny Puppy – “Fascist Jock Itch”

    Thanks Matt

  7. For next week

    Joy Division – Autosuggestion
    Depeche Mode- Halo
Siouxsie and The Banshees – Switch
New Order – Everything’s Gone Green

  8. Fields of the Nephilim – Psychonaut

  9. So happy to see “The Sun and the rainfall” was played last night. One of my favorite DM songs. So underrated

  10. First I was thinking about requesting some Cure, SOM, DM, FOTN, JD, DCD, JAMC, or SATB but then I went for 39 Clocks and the gracious “Psycho Beat” from “Pain (sic) it dark”. Thanks a lot!

  11. CARMEN ILARDI

Please play Garbage’s version of Cities in Dust.

  12. Always great to hear Bauhaus and Love & Rockets in the same hour. And then Simple Minds at the front of Hour 3! What a treat!

Was wondering if you could go a little further into the discography of Simple Minds by pulling out a track from their debut album? Perhaps the title track “Life In a Day” or “Chelsea Girl.” Thanks! Love your show!

    • Loved the Pink Industry song. I’d love to hear Body Electric by Sisters of Mercy on an upcoming show. Thanks.

  13. Tyberius

Matt, this show remains one of the highlights of my week. Thank you for another excellent mix of music.

Can you please play one of these songs from the excellent Repo Man soundtrack, Pablo Picasso by the Burning Sensations or When the Shit Hits the Fan by the Circle Jerks?

    Thank you,
    Tyberius

  14. Hey Matt! Simply love it each and every time you play He Said! Great selection.
Keep up the awesome work… a request for later on in May : Windowpane // COIL

    Cheers

  15. Thanks for another great show last night – the only bummer is that I think i fell asleep right before Deliverance. Will have to listen again!

Xtina’s Kraftwerk request got me thinking about Detroit and how Juan Atkins and Richard Davis took Kraftwerk, P-Funk, Gary Numan, and so many other influences to bring Cybotron into the world. Would make a good pairing with any EBM / synthpop tracks. Alleys of Your Mind is probably my fav but Cosmic Cars and Clear (most ‘electro-y’) are fantastic as well. So ya there’s my humble request for a few weeks out!

  16. Yet another stellar show from start to finish. Sunday evenings have become a real gift, thank you Matt. Thanks for playing ACR. Also just finished reading the q&a with Daniel Ash, very enjoyable. Can’t wait to see them live in a few weeks.

That Killing Joke track you played got me thinking about Executive Slacks and how Flood produced their “Our Lady” 12″. There’s an absolute monster b-side on that record that Flood plays bass on. Could you play “I’m Coming” in a couple of weeks?

    Have a great week, cheers!

  17. Great balance in each hour!

    Here are some requests –

The Birthday Party – Mr. Clarinet
Clan of Xymox – Red Light

    Thanks!

  18. Great show last night, Matt! Always love Sunday nights!

    • Thank you for the NIN track…oh the memories that sing stirs up… Anyways… great show as per usual!! Since the requests will be a few shows down the line I’d like to request Fiction Factory – Feels like Heaven to all those moms (like mine) that have left us. Happy Mother’s Day. ❤️❤️
      Thanks again! 。◕‿◕。

  19. Hey Matt awesome show! I have a request for Love and Rockets – My Dark Twin. Thank you and have a great week!

  20. Thank you for the NIN track…oh the memories that sing stirs up… Anyways… great show as per usual!! Since the requests will be a few shows down the line I’d like to request Fiction Factory – Feels like Heaven to all those moms (like mine) that have left us. Happy Mother’s Day. ❤️❤️
    Thanks again! 。◕‿◕。

  21. Constantine

Whenever you can, would love to hear Everywhere by the Cranes

    As always, thanks

    Constantine

  22. If you play that Kraftwerk request, how about pairing it with

Ramones – “We Want The Airwaves”

    Thank, Matt!

  23. Great show, Matt. Thanks for playing some great music.
I would love to hear “Where are you?(mix 1)” by 16 BIT.
    Thanks again.

  24. Hi Matt. My husband, Steve and I are celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary on May 25th. You have made it so special every year for us. Can play again our wedding song “Halo” by The Cure during your May 21st show? Thank you!

  25. Nathan J

As luck would have it my wife and I were able to make it down to the Queen City this weekend to see Uncle Al and gang!

    Pop Will Eat Itself
    “Everything’s Cool” (Youth 7 Mix)

This track is tough as nails and this mix, in particular, does a really good job isolating and emphasizing that Ministry “Thieves” sample. Can U dig It?

    Fall one by one
    The Queen to her fool
    Dos Dedos Mis Amigos
    Everything Cool
    EVERYTHING’S COOL!

  26. Nitzer Ebb “Captivate”

  27. Au Pairs. First heard that on the closed circuit Radio Radio service in Calgary in 1982. Lead singer Lesley Woods is now a lawyer. Check out The Guardian piece from May 17 2021 for a brief history of the band.

  28. It would be great to hear a track from the “Surf-Goth” EP by Desmond Doom. He’s a YouTuber from Australia who writes original songs that are like mashups of classic doom-rock bands. They sound great, but they are also really funny.

  29. Bertrand

The Last Song (re-recorded, from Chapter IV And Wait And Dance Remixed) by Trisomie 21.
P.S. nice to hear Pink Industry

  30. Gr(2+4+2) episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Front 242, “Crushed”

“I’m crushed by the absence of you”

  31. Just finished a 3rd listen and curious to know if anyone else had the OMD track replaced by The Cure’s “17 seconds”? Was definitely The Cure on Sunday unless I was hallucinating, which is possible….
