  1. Great to hear Thomas Dolby. And excellent selections from Throwing Muses, Wire, and the Shoegaze block. Outstanding episode.

Would like to request Room Nine “Angels Sing” on an upcoming episode please.

Also, want to ask a procedural question. I recall you once saying you prefer requests where the track is available on Spotify. Sorry if I’m imagining that. Is that the case? Or will you consider requests if the track is available on You Tube or some where other than a streaming service?

Thanks for the great music. Have a great week.

  2. “Nice” by Liliput/Kleenex for (the next after next) Sunday’s show

  3. I liked Cold Life Dub and didn’t know that was Ministry’s first single.

  4. The first hour was definitely my favorite for well-established reasons ;) Keep up the good work Matt and have a wonderful week!

  5. What about my life with the thrill kill kult these remains? Thanks!

  6. Hi Matt, can you play Tribal Warning Shot by Hunting Lodge? Thanks.

  7. Loved the shoegaze block Matt!

    Can I hear Japan – Despair ?

    Thanks

  8. Great start to the show with Wrong as the second song! Had to jump out the car and head to the D’mode convention in LA. I’ll catch up on demand.

Can you please play Seeing Red from Killing Joke next week? Thanks!

  9. Hour one was rocking!

    Here are some requests –

The Birthday Party – Mr. Clarinet
    Cocteau Twins – Lazy Calm

    Thanks!

  10. Hour one for sure…loved hearing D.A.F. -such a wide range of style they have, though my preference is their late 80’s electronica.

    Psychic TV
    “I Believe What You Said”
    (Spahn Ranch Mix)

  11. Here is a good request

    Ministry – same old madness

  12. Thank you for playing my request for Ride. And to follow it with the Verve – perfection! Also, loved hearing Jane’s Addiction in the mix.

  13. Hour 2 was the winner for me but this was a finely balanced show, so good. Another one to enjoy all week on the app. Lead Into Gold was nice to hear, looking forward to seeing them with Skinny Puppy in SF in a couple of weeks.

Request for a future show: “Deep in the Woods” by The Birthday Party

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  14. Wow I really love this set list….have only listened to the first hour but really awesome….thank you for playing a few of my requests….I really appreciate it. There is something beautiful about hearing this show every week. I like to think we’re all one big disfunctual dark wave family!! It soothes my lack of soul (I’m a redhead after all!!).
Some possible suggestions for next time:

MC 900 FT Jesus – The City Sleeps
Malhavoc – Happy House (Banshees cover)
Consolidated – You Suck (the lyrics are priceless!!)
    Thanks again as always! 。◕‿◕。

  15. really enjoyed this one – especially enjoyed the more early / vocal tracks from the shoegazers – nice flow and vibe through that set in particular. And I now have a new old band to dive into – Th’ Faith Healers. Thanks!

For a request i’ll just second Tina’s for that Consolidated track. Yeastie Girls FTW! Might pair nicely with Renegade Soundwave’s Cocaine Sex for the same style but opposite POV, hah.

    Thanks as always, Matt!

    • Ha thanks for the support!! That song takes me back to my club days for sure !!! …..or Lords of Acid I Sit on Acid!!!

      • Funny. I was listening to LOA’s The Crab Louse earlier. Third on the Consolidated request. It’s great.

        • Hey y’all check out the “Bat House Mix” by Bat House for a neat version of what would years later become “I Sit On Acid” by LOA…that’s Belgium ya know!

      • Hah yeah that’s another good one – t’was a naughty, not so subtle era lol.

I knew one of the Yeasties back in the day (once she’d gone onto a career in photography). Super kind, creative, and cooler than I’ll ever hope to be

  16. Blofeld enjoyed the episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
The Wedding Present, “You Only Live Twice”

  17. The Mission – Dancing Barefoot

  18. Requesting Parade Gound – “Moans”
    please & thanks Matt

Thank you for doing the Lord’s work.

  20. my request is Gang of Four “I found that essence rare”

  21. Hi Matt, I would be interested to hear this New Order b-side, “In A Lonely Place.”

  22. Long live David Gedge
Thank you Wedding Present, Fad Gadget, DAF and the lot.

    Buzzcocks for next week?

  23. Great show! I was going to pick a favorite hour but I don’t think I can. Loved the Tones on Tail and Thomas Dolby choices. Also, that Th’ Faith Healers track was nice. Will have to check out more by them.

Could we hear Cranes “Da Da 331” from the John Peel Sessions album?

  24. Catherine Wheel- Delicious

  25. Catherine Wheel- I Confess

  26. I just finished listening to an interview of Adrian Sherwood, so how about:
Tackhead- Mind at the End of the Tether or
    Gary Clail- Human Nature

    • Check out the latest (ep 445) Dekmantel podcast – an hour-long Adrian Sherwood mix of On-U sounds by way of African Head Charge… Sublime!

Also I second any TACK>>HEAD req.

  27. Hi, Matt! Awesome playlist, as always. What an incredible first hour. I listened quite late this week; I was in L.A. at the Depeche Mode convention last Sunday evening. This episode was the perfect start to my day, and now I get to look forward to enjoying another one in less than an hour. Can’t wait! :D

  28. Another superb show!!

  29. BTW – another fantastic shoegaze segment.
