  1. “The Mercy Seat” by Nick Cave + the Bad Seeds for (the next after next) Sunday’s show

  2. Loved the Peter Murphy song. Great show tonight!

  3. Please play Dead Can Dance’s Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove for some time in the near-to-distant future.

Great show as always, Matt! Thank you.

  4. The Iggy/Bowie combo, Beautiful Losers, Felt, Microdisney, and Pretty Ugly/Pretty Sad all put Hour 2 over the top. Glad I got to listen to this one tonight. Really great show tonight.

Thanks for the great music. Have a good week.

    • Constantine

I concur – the Berlin era pairing of Iggy and my request of Bowie’s Warszawa was brilliant Matt !!

    • Forgot to throw out a request for the Halloween show.

      Few ideas

      Psyche “Mr. Eyeball Ooze”
Trisomie 21 “See The Devil In Me” (Demo version)
Witch Trials “Humanoids From The Deep”

      Thanks.

  5. Great surprise to hear the Steve Kilbey song. How about Constant in Opal for next week?

  6. Felt is the most underrated band of the eighties ;-)

  7. Looks like you went into the vaults and pulled some cuts that got a little dusty. Nice work, like to hear those lost cuts. Also really enjoyed hearing the live version of Down in the Park last week. Still one of my favorites.

  8. CARMEN ILARDI

Thanks for playing “Things to Remember”. I’ve never heard that song on the radio before.

  9. Could you please play Ohgr’s “Tricks” to help celebrate my daughter’s birthday? She has listened to me playing Skinny Puppy and Ohgr ever since she was a toddler, and I still remember the first time she spontaneously started singing along with “Tricks.”

  10. Sean Whitaker

    Great show as always !!

I was exposed to 91X in San Diego as well for a few years in the 80’s. Still have a few cassette recordings of some of the shows. All of the things that have led us to this moment !!

Pretty awesome weekend for me. I saw Morrissey dead center and 5 rows out Thursday and DM from the stage sideline last night. Finished the weekend with a ride home from the show with Dark Wave Live !! for a change.

  11. How about ghost of a Texas ladies man by concrete blonde? Ty!

  12. Viva Mark E Smith!

Great show!! Anything Buzzcocks next week?

  13. So many amazing deep cuts this week! I really enjoyed the b-sides vibe in hour 3. Also enjoyed hearing your old cassette tales, I too was a cassette kid well before becoming a vinyl nerd. My cassette copies of Music for the Masses and Psychocandy and Technique got played so many times they eventually gave up the ghost.

Thanks for the JAMC track, that’s one of my fave deep cuts of theirs. And thanks as always for playing so many requests. Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  14. Enjoyed the deep cuts and the Berlin back to back in hour two!

Here are some requests for the annual Halloween show in a couple of weeks –

    New York Dolls – Frankenstein
    The Cult – Hollow Man

    Thanks!

    • Loved hearing Scarecrow – that song needs to be used in more haunted attractions. For Halloween show, what about Front Line Assembly’s “Laughing Pain”? I first heard it on The Blair Witch Project soundtrack – my (late bloomer) intro to many of the bands on Darkwave. So glad I discovered this show during COVID lockdown …

  15. Great show. As someone said earlier, the Berlin block was awesome and always welcome.
Could you play Treason by Naked Raygun?
And early Halloween request, Skeletons by The Sound?
    Thanks!

  16. Great show front to back – I think the Bowie track was a perfect fit – thanks to whomever requested that recently! That Nick Cave track was a trip… Scarecrow was a good reminder that there is pretty solid Ministry after TMIATTTT.

Thanks for our weekly dose of darkness Matt!

oh a request for a future ep… how about the ‘Version 1’ mix off of MBM’s Psyche Out single?

    • Constantine

Hey, I requested the Bowie but I wasn’t sure Matt would play it
I thought it would be a great addition to darkwave, but hats off to Matt for fitting it and Iggy into the perfect spot in the show !

  17. The Cure – Cut

  18. Awesome show today I Would love to hear Grimly Fiendish by The Damned or Killer Klowns From Outer Space by The Dickies for a Halloween show

  19. Constantine

Fear of Ghosts by the Cure for Halloween ?

  20. Wow some rarities this week! Hour 3 was my personal favorite. Loving this time of year….loads of clouds and darkness in Buffalo… speaking of which – here are some possible suggestions for next time:

    Concrete Blonde – Bloodletting
    Depeche Mode – Black Celebration
    Skinny Puppy – Love

    Thanks again as always! 。◕‿◕。
    Stay Spooky.

  21. Charlatans – Forever
Gary Numan – Here in the Black
    Trent Reznor/Peter Murphy – Reptile

  22. Beautiful episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Clock DVA, “Beautiful Losers”

“But there was darkness at the center of it all”

  23. With Halloween approaching,

    The Dead Kennedys – Halloween
