After returning to the concert stage for the first time in a quarter century last year, Shriekback next will deliver its 14th studio album, with the 10-song collection Why Anything? Why This? — the group’s first in three years — due later this month. Today we’re thrilled to premiere a track off that album: “Catmandu.”

Tom Bailey, the former frontman of synthpop pioneers Thomspon Twins, this summer will release his debut solo album and first collection of music under any guise in more than two decades, saying he finds it “incredibly rewarding to be making pop music again.” Full details here.

Nine Inch Nails today announced the release of the third in a trilogy of new EPs — the six-song Bad Witch — as well as plans for a fall U.S. tour dubbed Cold and Black and Infinite that will see Trent Reznor and Co. playing multiple two-night stands with opener The Jesus and Mary Chain. The announcement last week that Tears For Fears was postponing a U.K. tour with Alison Moyet due to an undisclosed health issue came with a glimmer of good news: Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith hope to finish work on their first new album in 14 years and release it this fall.

The enigmatic Dead Can Dance — led by co-founders and mainstays Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard — have recorded a new studio album, the group’s second since reuniting in 2011 and the first to be released in six years, Perry revealed in a tweet on Saturday. It’s not yet known when the album will be released.

Echo & The Bunnymen today announced that the release of the band’s new album — a collection of “some of their greatest songs” re-recorded “with strings and things attached” — will be pushed back from May to October as the group puts the final touches on the record. See full tracklist here.

Nearly four years after launching a campaign to fund the project, Dave Wakeling’s oft-touring incarnation of The English Beat is preparing to release a brand-new studio album — the first from Wakeling under the Beat imprint since 1982’s Special Beat Service. The album is now available for pre-order.

The Mission next week will release a new 5CD box set that collects live discs recorded during the band’s 2008 run of show in London that saw full-album performances of classic early records The First Chapter, God’s Own Medicine, Children and Carved in Sand. Full details and tracklist here.
