Echo & The Bunnymen will return to the U.S. this summer, with the band this week announcing what it termed a “tour of America” that consists of four shows in California this August. It is not clear, via the band’s announcement on Facebook or elsewhere, whether the Bunnymen plan to add more dates to the trek.

Peter Hook will mark the 35th anniversary of Ian Curtis’ death by performing the complete works of Joy Division in a 500-seat, 18th century church in Macclesfield, England — a charity event dubbed “So This is Permanence” that will see all proceeds donated to the Epilepsy Society and the Churches Conservation Trust.

When World Party toured the U.S. last summer, that 25-date trek was billed as the band’s most extensive visit to America in years. But this spring and summer, Karl Wallinger will top that, returning for a 39-date tour that begins in mid-May in Boston and wraps up two months later in Riverhead, New York.

Morrissey continues to expand his spring touring plans, and is now set to play four exclusive Australian shows in late May at the famed Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid LIVE 2015, the musical component of the 18-day Vivid Sydney festival. Morrissey will perform in Sydney on May 26, 27, 30 and 31.

The Pixies this morning announced that, in addition to a handful of recently unveiled festival dates, the band will stage its own North American tour this spring, unveiling 12 non-festival shows in May with a promise that “more dates will be announced shortly, too.” The band says it will debut new music on the tour.

The Psychedelic Furs this week rolled out what the band is calling the “first wave” of dates for its spring tour, nine shows in the eastern U.S. this May that will be followed a trio of “Fireworks Finale” concerts in September at the famed Hollywood Bowl with The B-52s. See full dates here.

Lloyd Cole opened his U.S. tour in Seattle earlier this month, and, while he was there, the singer-songwriter stopped by radio station KEXP to play a five-song, 20-minute solo-acoustic set that saw him perform a pair of songs off last year’s Standards and three tracks from Rattlesnakes.

Morrissey will perform at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Del., this summer, marking the former Smiths singer’s first U.S. concert appearance since scuttling an American tour last summer due to illness. The June 18-21 festival’s lineup was announced today, and it also features Kings of Leon, The Killers and more.

Just a year after the release of the old-songs-resurrected set Change Becomes Us, U.K. post-punk legends Wire return with another brand-new album, their 13th overall, which they’re simply calling Wire. The band has announced U.K. and U.S. tours to support the record, and have offered up the first taste of the LP.

Paul Weller’s forthcoming album Saturn’s Pattern will be released in the U.S. this spring by Warner Bros. Records, the former Jam leader announced today, debuting the video for first single “White Sky” and rolling out a 10-date North American tour this June.
