Via the release of the ‘One Drop’ EP last month, we’ve heard four of the new Public Image Ltd. tracks that will appear on ‘This Is PiL,’ the group’s first new album in 20 years, which arrives May 28 in the U.K. and May 29 in the U.S. Now comes a fifth new track, via Rolling Stone: ‘Deeper Water.’

With the My Bloody Valentine’s long-delayed reissues now out and Kevin Shields talking openly about a new album, it appears 2013 will see actual MBV activity: The band is scheduled to perform three concerts in Japan next February, which would mark the dormant group’s first performances since 2009.

Robyn Hitchcock this week announced he is recording a new album — provisionally titled ‘File Under Pop’ — that’s being eyed for a January release, but, in the meantime, he’s giving away two “interim tracks” as free downloads, including one recorded with singer-songwriter KT Tunstall singing harmonies.

The Primitives have issued a second video for a track off their just-released “concept covers album” ‘Echoes and Rhymes,’ this time for their cover of Nico’s 1965 debut single “I’m Not Sayin’.” The track features guitarist Paul Court on lead vocals, with Tracy Tracy chiming in with backing vox toward the end.

Since last November, the reunited Dead Can Dance has released a series of free digital EPs every few months collecting material recorded on the band’s 2005 tour. The reunited ’80s-era lineup of Ultravox — featuring Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann — today announced a 13-date U.K. tour this September and October in support of the band’s forthcoming comeback album, ‘Brilliant’ — the first new album from that lineup in nearly three decades.

The Jesus and Mary Chain will join headliners Iggy and the Stooges and Elvis Costello at this September’s punk-heavy Riot Fest 2012 in Chicago, promoters announced this week, marking the latest U.S. date to be added to the slow-roll out of the Mary Chain’s still-evolving summer North American tour.
