Morrissey announces 25-date U.S. tour ahead of planned new studio album

Just hours after announcing a pair of high-profile arena concerts in New York and Los Angeles, Morrissey this morning has unveiled a full 25-date U.S. tour this May and June that will hit many of the cities and venues that saw cancellations — some multiple times — during the former Smiths singer’s disastrous late-2012 and early-2013 American tour.

Announced via semi-official fansite True To You, the tour — which precedes a new studio album later this year — opens May 7 in San Jose and wraps up June 21 in Brooklyn, and includes the two arena shows announced last night and the concerts in Dallas and Boston that leaked out earlier this week via Ticketmaster. See full dates below.

Aside from the two arena shows, most of the dates are at theaters and opera houses.

Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, Feb. 21.

Morrissey’s last U.S. dates abruptly ended in May 2013 over “ongoing medical problems,” at which time the singer declared, “I hope this isn’t the end, and I hope there will be other chances.”

  1. Morrissey has canceled the last 3 of his scheduled performances in San Francisco. I wouldn’t trust him to make most of these dates. Also, San Jose is as close to SF as Brighton is to London. Why do performs think they’ve got The Bay Area covered by playing San Jose. I’ve lived in SF for 25 years and have NEVER been to performance in SJ.

  2. Moz are you coming Minneapolis? Cancelled twice last year and would love to see you live!

  3. well Dean, you should feel lucky enough to live in a city that is almost ALWAYS on someone’s tour list… sadly there aren’t that many large venues there, so you might have to go to Shoreline, or Berkelely to the Greek, or Oakland. when we didn’t live in SF we drove there sometimes twice a month from Santa Cruz, which is twice as far as your drive to SJ. people in other parts of the country have to drive 6+ hours to see shows if they don’t happen to be in Chicago, LA, New York, etc. PLUS if Morrissey plays to close to SF he always gets sick. lol

  4. Is there a link to where tickets can be purchased?

  5. It’s not unusual….to be un-loved by anyone…it’s not unusual to be …..

  6. Scott Stalcup

Last date on the tour is with Dame, er SIR Cliff.

Nah. Too early in the morning for anything quasi-witty, or simply not witty, full stop.

  7. Is it just me, or is it odd to skip the ENTIRE Pacific Northwest? Portland? Seattle? Really no way we’d drive to Utah or San Jose.

  8. Miss you Morrisey you do nothing but impress.
