  1. “The Headmaster Ritual” by the Smiths/Morrissey

  2. Great calls with Fiction Factory, Julian Cope, and the Bauhaus-Pieces-Parts segment in Hour 1. All around great show.

Thanks for a good one. Have a great week.

  3. CARMEN ILARDI

Could you please play David Bowie and Marianne Faithfull singing I’ve Got You, Babe on Burt Sugarman’s Midnight Special. Thank you.

  4. Fun show tonight! See you next week!

  5. Dr Mabuse and Monitor, are two great cuts that pretty much get forgotten. Nice to hear them, especially on the same show. Still Think Juju is one of the best albums of the 80’s. thanks, Nice job last night.

  6. That ‘Bauhaus without Bauhaus’ set in Hour One was stellar! Tones, solo David J and Daniel Ash, and Dalis Car – loved every bit of it! And thanks for playing “Holy Fool” and “She’s In Parties.” Those are two of my favorites!

Request: Heres Comes the Comedown – Love & Rockets

  7. Really great show Matt. All three hours finely tuned. Thanks for the Executive Slacks track. Really enjoyed hearing that sandwiched between excellent tracks from Alien Sex Fiend and The Birthday Party. And I think I had said that Flood plays bass on “I’m Coming” when I meant to say Youth.

May 18 marks the anniversary of Ian Curtis’s death. How about playing The Durutti Column’s tribute to Curtis on a future show, “The Missing Boy,” off of what may be their best album, LC? And isn’t Vini Reilly a criminally underrated songwriter and guitarist? Moz should have given him songwriting credits on Viva Hate.

    Have a great week, cheers!

  8. great show, thanks! Getting us excited for Love and Rockets in a couple weeks!

    • oh for a request sometime down the line, how about Antiplastik by Crunch-Ø-Matic?

    • How was that Skinny Puppy show? Saw them earlier in the tour as OhGr was sick…end of an era! – Last Tour…seems like it was just Last Rites…all my heroes are hanging up their hats!

      • it was great! good turnout in Boise – maybe ~1000-1500? the hall was pretty big. I really liked the theatrics and they had good energy throughout. Ogre and the guitarist really seemed to be enjoying themselves and the love from the crowd. Harder to tell about cEvin Key because of the big rig he was on.

It’s rekindled my love for the band and I’m having a great time going back through their catalog… and now my kid is interested in putting the too dark park poster I had on my wall when I was their age up in their room haha.

With Cursive a couple weeks back, SP right after, and now L+R this weekend, we are all-in on these tours. Well worth it!

  9. Hey Matt – Awesome show (as always!) I’ve always wondered what John Balance is “saying backwards” at the end of that Coil track – thanks for playing. And btw enjoyed that Barry Adamson/Massive Attack ‘combo’ last week. Perfect!

Here’s a request you probably don’t see too often – but I have faith that you can find it! :)

Pablo Picasso // by Burning Sensations…

    Cheers

    • Pablo Picasso?!?! Amazing call

    • Let me piggyback on that- so cool Matt, not only playing “Something Wicked” but revealing the sample sources, treating us to both Massive Attack and “Spooky!” Schooling us…thanks!

  10. Terrific show Matt! Thank you so much for the Fiction Factory…it is a beautiful song – I appreciate it more than you know. Anywho….shoegaze anyone?!?! Some possible suggestions for next time:

    Lush – Never-Never
    Chapterhouse – Breather
    Slowdive – Primal

    Thanks as always!! 。◕‿◕。

  11. Into a Circle – Over and Over

  12. Thirwell 99

    Always a fantastic show–thanks, Matt.

Juice Newton, Queen of Hearts would be insane. People’s heads would explode! Or, if not that, perhaps Saint Judy by Marc Almond.

  13. Enjoyed that second hour!

    Here are some requests –

Fad Gadget – For Whom the Bells Toll
    Wipers – True Believer

    Thanks!

  14. Great show, Matt.
One More Time was my High School Prom song theme. Perfect choice for me was (Last dance-Disintegration) , but the album just got released the month of my dance, So “one more time” got voted in.
Could you perhaps play Something Inside Me Has Died by Kommunity FD?
Thanks, keep the dark songs coming.

  15. Awesome show! Would love to request Big Black Hes a Whore.

  16. Constantine

    COIL —— Things Happen

    please

  17. Would like to request Leave Me Alone by New Order. Thank you

  18. Cyberaktif. “Meltdown”

  19. Great episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    Depeche Mode, “Leave in Silence”

“This will be the last time
I think I said that last time”

  20. Hey Matt, Great show last week,
How about digging deep into the Leather Nun with “Jesus came driving along” ?

    Thanks Matt
