  1. The Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore by the Smiths. R.I.P. Andy Rourke. </3

    • Andy’s bass really shines on this song. In a 2017 “lust for lists” with Andy’s picks, he closed the show with this gem.

  2. Fun show tonight Matt!

    I’d like to request
    Chemlab “Suicide Jag”

  3. Thanks for Invincible Spirit. Great cuts from Iggy Pop, Nitzer Ebb, and Skinny Puppy.

Would like to ask for some Throwing Muses in an upcoming episode. Dealer’s choice. Just feels like a bit since I’ve heard them.

Thanks for the great music. Have a good week.

  4. Echo & The Bunnymen’s ‘A Promise’ was in my thoughts all week and there it was on the program. Such a beautiful album jacket photo for ‘Heaven up Here’.

  5. Please, more Machines of Loving Grace!

  6. Fernando N

I think I’m in the mood for the Tree Mix version of “A Forest” by The Cure

  7. The Headmaster Ritual was a hell of a kick off that last nights episode. a great tribute to Andy, it’s my favorite smiths song and I think has one great bassline. Machines of loving Grace was a nice touch as well. Haven’t heard that one of the very long time.

  8. Your show Matt is the sole reason I have the SXM app. Surely I’m not alone when I say I look forward to it every week.
Requesting ‘Kennedy’ by the Wedding Present.
I leaned hard on the Wedding Present after the Smiths broke up.
Thank you and Viva David Gedge

  9. Matt, please play one of the following.

Drive, She Said – Stan Ridgeway
    Happening – Pixies

    Thanks

  10. Can you please play “Sin in my heart” by Siouxsie … and thank you to my wife Casey for getting tickets to Cruel World.

  11. Top Shelf Show Matt! Honestly cannot decide which hour was best. Well done!

  12. First time in a good while I was not able to listen to the show live. Was watching Love and Rockets play a cracking set in Oakland last night. I hope my fellow darkwavers are able to catch them on this tour.

Listening right now and that was the perfect song to start the show Matt. The Smiths are certainly responsible for many songs that saved this life. And the Smiths are not the same band without Andy Rourke, a true legend. Looking forward to listening to Lori’s show with Andy. Great set as always. This one will be on repeat all week.

    Have a great week, cheers!

    • That _was_ a cracking set last night! I want Daniel Ash’s suit, even if I could never pull it off.

      • Haha! I was thinking the exact same thing. Incredible visuals all around.

      • Hey Evan, funny you mentioned the Skinny Puppy poster in your kids room. Recently unearthed some old massive subway posters from my parent’s attic- Rabies, Ministry “Warzone,” but the coup de grace is a TKK Kooler Than Jesus- it was mounted on board unfortunately and is so warped…

        • nice – yeah i wish i had taken better care of some of those artifacts. Every time I clean my garage I hope to find the ASF Curse Tour shirt that I refuse to believe has somehow disappeared into the ether!

  13. Goodbye Mr MacKenzie – Knockin’ on Joe

  14. Thanks for New Model Army
    – You’re the best!

  15. Thanks for ProTest. As a Canadian, never enough Skinny Puppy. Especially cool play music later in their musical journey.

Suggestion for future playlist is She Past Away (Turkish goth band) – Asimilasyon

  16. Thanks for another great installment of DW Matt…. loved all the hours tbh. Thank you for the J&MC track! I’m thinking moody instrumentals for an upcoming episode! Some possible suggestions for next time:

    The Cure – Plainsong
    Depeche Mode – Agent Orange
    OMD – Souvenir (instrumental)

    Thanks as always!! 。◕‿◕。

  17. Jonathan Leon

    Happy World Goth Day!
Could you please play Blood B!tch from Cocteau Twins?
    You’re the best, Matt!

  18. Thank you for playing the J&MC request. Your show never disappoints!

  19. I really wanted to go to Cruel World, but couldn’t swing it. Can you play “No Words No More” by Love and Rockets. That tape got me through an all night/day drive from PHX to DEN once. Thanks Matt

  20. I’d love to hear Skinny Puppy “Morpheus Laughing” and Peter Murphy “Cuts You Up”- it’s just one of my favorite songs of all time and I can’t remember hearing it on DW!

  21. “Unconditional in my attitude
    Make no mistake…
We’ve come to FUCK you OVER”

    Murder Inc.- “Murder Inc.”

Yo, Invisible Records at full flex, this track brings it kids, with savage simplicity, absolutely daring you not to blow up your speakers…Please remain silent.

Thank you for playing Severed Heads this week, Matt.

  22. Top level stuff in this week’s DW!

    Here are some requests –

The Gun Club – A Devil in the Woods
    Big Black – The Model

    Thanks!

  23. Any chance you could play Firewalker by A Split Second?

  24. Great episode.

    This week’s Darkness Award:
    The Smiths, “The Headmaster Ritual”

    RIP Andy Rourke

  25. Great show as always, Matt/
Could you play “Fool’s Gold” by Screams For Tina?
