  1. “Twilight of the Moral” by Killing Joke for (the next after next) Sunday’s show

  2. Great way to start 2024. Great cuts from The Sound, RLYL, and The Creatures. Loved hearing that Medium Medium song.

On an upcoming episode, would like to ask for That Petrol Emotion “Here It Is Take It”.

    Have a good week. Thanks.

  3. Well that was a fuckin’ trip. JAMC song I’ve not heard, a Bowie remix, a newish Bunnymen piece, an amazing segue from the Lorries into Concrete Blonde, a headphone workout by Tones on Tail, a B-Movie song sounding like your local indie-band’s cassette-only release from 1984, re-arranged Gary Numan intro, ending with a Sly Stone cover he probably would have loved. Sorry Matt, we were all called away on Christmas and New Years Eves, and this first communion of 2024 had us locked in from the start.

  4. I loved the Red wrapping paper song tonight, Matt! Excellent show tonight!

  5. Wow, what a great show to usher in 2024! I love that JAMC song (I think an underrated gem from their catalog). And followed by Bowie – perfection (Happy Birthday to the Starman).
A request for an upcoming show : The Jesus and Mary Chain “Sidewalking”
    Thank you!

  6. Great to be here for 2024 communions!

My request is Ministry’s cover of “The light pours out of me” – originally by Magazine

  7. Joseph DeCuire

You played Samhain. That’s a win in my book.

  8. Blitz – Telecommunication

  9. Cracking start to 2024! Totally agree with Nicole above about that JAMC cut, great selection. Loved hearing a Bowie track off the Outside album, and happy birthday today to a true iconoclast. Bowie and Elvis both born on Jan 8! That Medium Medium track was sweet, I’d never heard that before. But the winner for me was hour 3, particularly the stretch beginning with The Creatures all the way to the end, so good.

I’ll be heading down to LA in a few weeks with my eldest son to see Mozzer play the You Are The Quarry album. Any chance you could play my fave song off that record? “You Know I Couldn’t Last”

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  10. Rocking show to start off 2024!

    Here are some requests –

Catherine Wheel – That’s When I Reach for My Revolver
    Executive Slacks – Spiders

    Thanks!

  11. Fantastic playlist this week Matt! Too many to list but I especially like hearing things from living ornaments. I really think those are very underrated albums. Enjoy last night very much. Thanks.

  12. Got a giggle when you called me the “resident Love and Rockets requester.” I loved that so much! I appreciate all the Daniel Ash related tracks you incorporated into the show and playing Japan in hour one was so sweet! Love those guys!

I recently acquired a vinyl of Siouxsie and the Banshees’ Nocturne LP and was hoping you could play a track off it. “Melt,” “Cascade,” “Night Shift,” or “Israel” would be lovely to hear. Thanks!

  13. Great start to 2024 Matt! Love Nowhere Girl….such a classic!!
Some possible suggestions for next time:

    The Stranglers – Golden Brown
The Cure – Play For Today
The Sisters of Mercy – Valentine

    Thanks again as always!! 。◕‿◕。

  14. Ballerina Out of Control/ Ocean Blue

  15. I’d also like to request any Love & Rockets song to a fellow SUE listener who worked in a liquor store I met while on Christmas ski vacation in Keystone, Colorado. He was playing L & R in his store and I said “Whoa! This is awesome and guessed the band” We talked for 5 minutes also about Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy and your show while my husband stood there and rolled his eyes but I could tell the owner was a huge Daniel Ash fan. Anyway, he gave me a dollar for knowing the artist that was playing in the store. It all felt like it was something out of High Fidelity and cool to meet another fan of the genre……

  16. The dollar part is a tradition he does for whoemever knows his music. Sorry that just sounded weird.

  17. Perhaps 3rd times the charm? Requesting New Order – New Dawn Fades (with a bunch of guests) live from the 24 Hour Party People soundtrack. Please and thank you!

  18. aw man I’m digging Sherwood at the Controls – thanks for another fine discovery!

Happy New Year Dark Wave! This was indeed a great kickoff!

  19. Hey Matt!

Happy New Year! Sooo looking forward to 50+ new Dark Wave shows coming up for 2024!! :)
Well, since it is now January – here are a couple of “frigid” new requests:

    Xymox // Headclouds
Propaganda // Frozen Faces (12″ version)

    Cheers!

  20. They Came In – Buttholes Surfers (Weird Revolution & MI-2 Soundtrack)
    Love – Belfegore (Belfegore)
