  1. What an absolutely perfect way to start the show. Skinny Puppy was a very welcome treat. I was going to gush over particular songs, but you got kinda silly there for a second and just started playing banger after banger and just didn’t stop. I feel it would take up too much time to give individual attention to each and to be honest the similarity to my daily playlist was Spooky. Speaking of which, could we hear:

    Lush- Nothing Natural

This show was even better than last, and that was one of your best. Thank you for doing the Lord’s work.

Like real silly though sir. Thanks for the Wolfshiem and my favorite Joy Division song.

  2. Hi Matt! My husband, Steve and I are celebrating our five-year wedding anniversary on May 25th.

You have been so kind to play our wedding song ,“Halo”by The Cure, each year we’ve been married. Could you play it again on your May 19th show?

Thank you again for making each year we have been married memorable!

  3. “The Night Has Opened My Eyes” by the Smiths/Morrissey for (the next after next) Sunday’s show

  4. addictedtonoise

Please consider Psychic TV’s “I.C. Water” for a future broadcast. Thanks Matt!

  5. Plastic Bertrand – Major Tom

  6. Great show last night Matt! I haven’t requested anything in a hot second so I figured I’d drop a few to choose from for a future episode. Thanks in advance! Have a great week!

    Blackwater – Rain Tree Crow
    Hope – Bauhaus
    Adrenalin – Bauhaus

    • Seconding these! Especially Rain Tree Crow, sure wish Mick Karn was still around – such a talent, gone far too soon. RIP.

  7. Perfect song to kick things off this week! Thank you so very much for playing my Smiths request. My other highlights from this week include Love and Rockets, Charlatans, Depeche Mode, Sugarcubes…
A request for an upcoming show:
JAMC “you trip me up” acoustic/John Peel session
Thank you! And wishing everyone an awesome week.

  8. What a fantastic show!! I thoroughly enjoyed this one more than any other. Anytime you include Gene loves Jezebel, Sinking by the Cure, Rubber Ring, the Charlatans and Kitchens of Distinction it’s going to be solid. Thank you

  9. Kas Product – Never Come Back (1982)
The Verve – Gravity Grave (Extended Version) (1992)

    • Second The Verve request! Got to see them play that extended version way back when at Slim’s in SF. Truly memorable watching Richard stalk the stage barefoot while Nick made our ears bleed. And Simon’s bass line….

      • Yes to the Verve request! And Nathan, I have similar memories of barefoot Richard stalking the stage at Irving Plaza back in the day. They were amazing.

    • Changing my request to (Shellac – The End Of Radio) from December 1st 2004 Peel Session RIP Steve 1962-2024

  10. Can you play Kinetic from Hilary

  11. Absolutely killer set last night Matt, you continue to outdo yourself on the regular. Gotta give the slight edge to hour 2 with an all timer from Skinny Puppy to kick it off, really liking the stuff of the new David J collection, a contender for all time best Smiths b-side (great request Nicole!), Pale Saints, Charlatans, KoD, a contender for all time best Suede b-side, and to close it with MBV… call me gobsmacked. And many thanks for playing the Weddoes request, I love that one.

Request for a future show: “Vanishing Point” by Primal Scream

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  12. Wowza Matt….I really loved this show…started off with my fav Ministry song (thank you may have requested that one) but then you went on to play my fav Skinny Puppy song and Moev — and The Cure — and then the shoegaze set and one of my favorite Depeche Mode tunes! Hot damn!! Thank you for perking us all up every week. ❤️

Some possible suggestions for next time:

Faith No More – We Care a Lot
The Jesus and Mary Chain – Reverence
My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult – The Days of Swine and Roses

    Thanks again as always!!!!! 。◕‿◕。

  13. Enjoyed the Britpop/dream pop/’shoegaze block in addition to all the other choices!

    Here are some requests –

Altered Images – Dead Pop Stars
Executive Slacks – Say It Isn’t So

    Thanks!

  14. loving all the shoegaze lately

  15. Catherine

Psychedelic Furs- Shadow in my Heart

  16. Nice way to start the show with some Ministry

NIN and Peter Murphy covering Atmosphere would also be a banging way to start.

  17. ABSOLUTELY the best show I have heard since the last absolutely best show. This show was not just a ton of my favorite bands but paired with my favorite songs. Dog End, Seasick, Dalliance, Rubber Ring, Assimilate, Coldsweat, Buddha, Windscreen!!?? I thank you ever so.

    Viva Dark Wave!

Request, David Bowie, Sons of The Silent Age

  18. I was going to request some Yeah, Whatever era Moev, but it looks like you beat me to it!

Could I possibly hear something off Iggy Pop’s The Idiot?

  19. Great show. Loving Hours 1 and 2. Going to listen to Hour 3 tomorrow.

Thanks and have a great week.

  20. Hey Matt!

Holy Smoke! What an awesome series of selections back-to-back in hour 3! (Sisters/DM/Nitzer Ebb/FLA/Wolfsheim). The first two hours were great as well, in typical SXM Dark Wave fashion – Amazing Work!

    … Here’s a couple of more requests!

Keep Me From Harm // Peter Murphy
Second Skin // Chameleons UK (Edge Sessions version!)

    Cheers!

  21. That Abecedarians song was great, I’m going to have to check them out.

Also went into the rabbit hole of Athens, GA. A newish band, Vision Video, is from there and put the city on the map for me, so when you got into the history of Pylon and mentioned REM – I went down the rabbit hole of discovering Athens as a music hub. B-52s!

  22. Would like to request Inside-looking Out by The Charlatans for a future show

  23. Just saw the news about Steve Albini… If you can fit a big black track or two in this week I’ll be toasting in the general direction of Chicago while you do…

  24. A whole block of Steve Albini/Big Black, and the many bands he worked with would be excellent. Huge loss for music.

  25. Hey Matt
I am requesting …..and let’s get dark for Fields of the Nephlim – Preacher song.
Or since you highlighted Band The Lucy Show I only see it fitting more from them like White Space for those who never heard of this band.

  26. you played Kate Bush / Experiment IV, right? don’t see it on the playlist…am i going crazy? great track, BTW

  27. Hey Matt, loved hearing Charlatans UK and KOD on this episode – 2 of my favorite albums from 1992. Keep up the great work!
