This week’s new releases include the new EP from Dalis Car, the 5CD ‘Arkeology’ box set from World Party, a reissue of The Human League’s ‘Dare,’ the second album from Black Francis’ Grand Duchy project, an acoustic set from X’s John Doe and Exene Cervenka and a 2CD archival live set from Joe Jackson.

The Pixies have yet to record a new album since reuniting in 2004, but frontman Black Francis has been no stranger to the recording studio in those intervening years, and, in April, will release ‘Let the People Speak,’ his second effort with wife Violet Clark as the indie/electropop duo Grand Duchy.
Friday, a half-dozen local bands gathered in Springfield, Mo., to play Pixies songs, an otherwise run-of-the-mill tribute night except for one thing: Black Francis and his wife, former Springfielder Violet Clark, returned the favor, sending along their own video tribute to the midwestern city.
