A really great show this evening as always. Loved the Thrill Kill Kult selection . Would it be possible to hear:
Adam & The Ants- Physical (You’re So) Single Version
I look forward to your Samhain set next week.
“Home Computer” by Kraftwerk for (the next after next) Sunday’s show
Hey Matt!
So very awesome! Thanks for leading off the show today with JAMC! Such a great track…. Also, great to hear “Brothers Grimm” and that gets me even more stoked for the show tomorrow in LA at Ace Hotel (same venue Love and Rockets played at back in June btw). I listened to the entire Dreamtime CD earlier today and it is nearly impossible to pick a favorite track – I enjoy them all immensely! Well, here is what I decided on:
Bad Medicine Waltz // The Cult. (And of course – crossing fingers to hear them ALL again tomorrow night in LA!)
Cheers!
It was a tough call tonight. I’m going to have to go with Hour 2, but the Throwing Muses, Red Temple Spirits, Lucy Show, and final two songs were all great calls.
Found they reissued the Doctor Death’s compilations. Recommend any of those if anyone is looking for some interesting compilations. Would like to request Rash of Stabbings “Faulter” on an upcoming show please.
Thanks for the great music. Have a good week.
For future considerations:
Jonathan Richmond – I Was Dancing in the Lesbian Bar
Dead Can Dance- In the Power We Entrust the Love Advocated
Ryuchi Sakamoto – Riot in Lagos ( you turned me onto this!)
Depth Charge from a few weeks ago was rad too!
I will second the DCD selection
Thanks!
Great set list Matt, especially enjoyed the shoe gaze interlude with velocity girl and curve. Lunar Camel was a nice treat too thanks!
Thanks for my request! Was thinking about Kmfdm power? Thanks again!
Matt,
Hoping I can get this request in time for All Hallows Eve…
The Creatures, live at ULU
“The Vamp/Witchcraft/StandingThere”
Thanks!
I thought the extended shoegaze set was great! My request for next week or anytime is For the Kill by Life on Venus
Play Dead – Caught on the Thorns
Great show Matt! I moved to PA from Las Vegas, so dark wave is on late now for me. I have play this back on demand.
Loved the mix this week!
Here are some requests –
Public Image Ltd. – Memories
Pixies – River Euphrates
Thanks!
“Semi-popular demand” for the shoegaze block??? I’ve been loving it! Please keep it up! Just not at the expense of the industrial blocks. :)
Great set Matt,
I really enjoyed the ending of Kingdom of Rain going into a Night Like This
It’s the little things:)
My thoughts exactly – that was brilliant. <3
Hot damn Matt!! What a set list……loved opening track and of course my favorite Cure song — hour 2 just crushed it… the shoegaze set was super awesome!! Thank you for playing a few of my requests – I really appreciate it! Some possible suggestions for next time:
Delerium – Flowers Become Screens
Sisters of Mercy – Vision Thing
The Jesus and Mary Chain – Sugar Ray
Thanks again as always! 。◕‿◕。
I’ll second The Jesus and Mary Chain request!
Since I’ll be seeing The Damned on Halloween night, I think I’m in the mood for a “Grimly Fiendish”…
Back to back shoegaze blocks, wow! That was a super pleasant surprise. Loved hearing the new Drop Nineteens track as well as A.R. Kane and Velocity Girl, along with some killer old favorites – thank you Tina! Can’t remember who requested Pale Saints but that was an inspired choice as well. And I couldn’t agree with you more about Slowdive’s set after seeing them twice in San Francisco. Souvlaki Space Station and Crazy for You were standouts in stellar sets from start to finish.
Can’t wait for the Halloween extravaganza next Sunday. Here’s a request for next month: “A Hole in the Wallet” by Gang of Four.
Have a great week Matt, cheers!
My pleasure!
Zelda -Darkness the sight of one day
I know we’re supposed to request two weeks in advance but inspiration struck me over the weekend for tracks fit for the Halloween show. Hope you might be able to work in “In Fear of Fear” from Bauhaus! Thanks!
Good episode.
This week’s Darkness Award:
Department S, “Going Left Right”
Happy Halloween Matt!!
Could you play What a Day from Throbbing Gristle? That would be great!
La Tumba Cuarenta y Cinco. Looking forward to the Halloween show!
Hi, Matt! As always, you’ve put together a great show. It was lovely to hear Kingdom Of Rain, Candy Says, and Brothers Grimm; I just saw The Cult last week, and they were brilliant. I so enjoyed the shoegaze block as well. I can’t wait to hear what you have in store for this year’s Halloween episode – I know it’ll be awesome!
Hope you’re having a great week! :D
Extended Shoegaze set 4ever…. can’t wait for halloween special next weekend
Annie Lennox- Love Song for a Vampire
Halloween Favorites
you probably already know to play this but here goes….
BAUHAUS- Bela Lugosi’s Dead
or a long shot
White Zombie- I’m your boogie man
both are awesome
Happy Haunting!!!
That industrial set was great! It reminded me of being at the clubs in the 90s. Can you play Revco – ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy’
Hello – since it’s a Halloween set next weekend I’d like to request “Satan Place” by Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel. Thank you.
I wish to write in support of the shoegaze segment. Many songs live in the dark – dreamy -shoegaze Venn Diagram.
Song request, if it fits: Life in the Gladhouse by Modern English
Thanks for the Death Cult, was at the show :-)
And yes, they played that song (though I didn’t know it at the time)
