  1. I love it when you say Wax Trax! on air because it means a banger is to follow, and quite a few did. You’ve just been on a streak of outstanding shows and tonight was no different. I noticed the multiple songs featured in the bumpers, nice. Speaking of The Sound, ould we hear:

    The Sound- Skeletons

I appreciated the Ministry and Lush double treat. Thank you for the Lust for List show heads up.

  2. “Metal Mickey” by (the London) Suede for (the next after next) Sunday’s show

  3. I loved hearing Altered Images! I can’t remember if that was another one of my requests or not. “Dead Pop Stars” is certainly one of my favorites. And that Bauhaus track… I was listening to Lust For Lists on Saturday and was happy to hear you would be playing my request. “Hope” makes my heart melt every time! Anyway, that’s enough from me. Thanks once again. Enjoy your week, Matt!

  4. Next week please play

Venus In Furs – Velvet Underground
Joy Division – Sound Of Music
Siouxsie and The Banshees – Switch
Ministry – Where You At Now/Crash and Burn/Twitch

  5. Thanks for the Nine Inch Nails, Matt! Goodnight!

  6. Great cuts by The Sound and Iggy Pop. But Altered Images and Spiritualized put Hour 2 over the top for me. Great show.

Would like to request Foreign Affair “Ghosts Can’t Run Away” on a future episode please.

Thanks for the great music. Have a good week.

  7. Ultravox – I Can’t Stay Long

  8. Matt, this setlist fills my “dark heart” with joy! I can’t thank you enough for including both of my recent requests for JAMC and Ride – you’re the best. So cool to hear the Verve, Spiritualized and Iggy in the mix. And that Acid Horse is new to me – I love it.
For a future request: an offbeat David Bowie choice “This is not America”
(and if that doesn’t fit the Dark Wave mold – how about “I’m afraid of Americans”)
    Thank you!

    • And I’m chiming in again to say I really enjoyed listening to your episode of Lust for Lists. It’s an extra dose of Dark Wave for the week! You mentioned how the listeners/requests help to shape your weekly playlists – I can’t thank you enough for reading our comments and doing an amazing job of incorporating our many requests into the show.

  9. Can you play Kinetic from Hilary

  10. Thank you so very much for playing Cop Shoot Cop!!!- love Spiritualized
Could you dig up Transparent Radiation (Violin Mix) by Spacemen 3
It is a awesome cover of Red Krayola
    Thank you so much

  11. I know its not a super Darkwave type song but I would really love to hear
    Schools Out – Alice Cooper
Or if you know of any cover versions that would be more suitable that would be fine too. But I would really like it to be played because this weekend marks the last day of school and my daughter gets out and is now able to listen to Darkwave every weekend.

  12. Cop Shoot Cop, yes! That song is so damn good. If anyone has had the good fortune to see Spiritualized play that one live you know just how damn good. All 3 hours were on point but I have to give the slight edge to hour 2, especially with a great Gang of Four cut and a little ‘Hope’ from Bauhaus (great request Nicole!). Also loved the live The The cut in hour 3, can’t wait to see them in the fall.

May I suggest to the Darkwave family that they give the latest installment of Lust for Lists a listen? I listened before the show last night and thoroughly enjoyed Matt’s goth day playlist and chat with Lisa, great stuff. Highly recommended!

Request for a future show and inspired by your Velvets selection on the Lust for Lists playlist: Ride’s cover of the Velvet’s “European Son.” I have never been able to track down a physical copy of this track, I think it was on some kind of compilation way back when?

Have a great week Matt, cheers!

  13. Tubeway Army – It Must Have Been Years

    • Chris Raymond

Hi…a rare opportunity tomorrow to stay up late and listen to all 3 hours. Going to Echo tonight in Detroit. Can you squeeze in Heads Will Roll if not too late?
      Thanks!

  14. Yes, thanks for Cop Shoot Cop. Epic. More Spiritualized! Had not heard “Dead Pop Stars” before — loved it.

  15. Sigur Rós – Hún Jörð … (1997) Dark, Scary, Beautiful and Amazing
Crispy Ambulance – Four Minutes From The Frontline (1980)

  16. Kidtbinyti the show as I type this Matt! Thanks so much for the Swine and Roses & Sonnet tracks I requested! I love both songs even though they are very different – but isn’t that what is so great about Dark Wave?!?! Anyways….some possible suggestions for next time:

    Pixies – Gigantic
The Jesus and Mary Chain – Fizzy
My Bloody Valentine – Soft As Snow

    Thanks again as always!!! 。◕‿◕。

    Hi Matt:

Would love to hear “Only Losers Take the Bus” by Fatima Mansions. Cathal Coughlan – another genius gone too soon!

  22. Hey Matt!

I’d better get this request in now … can you play “Caution” from the Chameleons’ ‘86 masterpiece “Strange Times”? Getting super stoked for their upcoming tour (wherein they’ll be playing the entire album, apparently! Going to the LA show @ EOM)

    Cheers!

  23. Great dark balance to each hour!

    Here are some requests –

Figures on a Beach – No Stars
Echo & The Bunnymen – Clay

    Thanks!

  24. Public Image- Annalisa

  25. The last four shows have been incredible! Look forward to the next month!

  26. Thanks Matt for playing my request! The way you placed it in the playlist is a great reminder that the heavy metal people don’t truly understand a group like The Misfits and that they belonged to us goths and punks first and always will. Sorry to get philosophical but I have been reading John Robb’s ‘The Art of Darkness’ lately and plan on tackling Lol Tursts’ take on Goth pretty soon.

  27. Great Sets In this episode of Darkwave included Ministry, Ride, Lush, Iggy Pop and Thanks for Fields of the Nephilim.

A request for Joy Division – Something must Break or
    Chapterhouse – Falling Down
