Peter Gabriel is offering fans the first taste of the visual component of the upcoming reissue of his ‘So’ album in the form of this 1-minute clip of “Sledgehammer” from the newly restored “Live in Athens 1987” DVD — formerly “PoV” — that will be included in the deluxe box set version of the reissue.

Mute Records this fall continues its new compilation series An Introduction To… with a disc celebrating Slovenian avant-garde industrial group Laibach’s “unique take on the art of the cover version,” compiling 15 tracks, including newly recorded version of The Normal’s “Warm Leatherette” and Bob Dylan’s “Ballad of a Thin Man.”

Long-running electronic outfit Delerium — led by former Front Line Assembly member and Skinny Puppy collaborator Bill Leeb — this fall will release the 15-track ‘Music Box Opera,’ the group’s first new studio album in six years, which is preceded by the debut today of music video for lead-off single “Monarch.”

The Fixx returned to network television last night with an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that saw the band performing new single “Anyone Else” plus the classic “Red Skies” during the closing credits. The group stuck around to perform a web-only version of “One Thing Leads To Another” as well.

The reunited Dead Can Dance — co-founders Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard — have released their first new album in 16 years, and are now a few dates into their first live dates since 2005, following a tour-opening concert in Vancouver, B.C., last Thursday. On July 13, 1991, Aussie rockers INXS played to a sold-out crowd of 72,000 fans at London’s Wembley Stadium, exactly six years to the day after Live Aid was held at the same venue. Like the New Order footage we posted today, this half-hour packageof The Cure performing at the Vieilles Charrues festival in France is top-quality stuff. The video was posted to The Cure’s Facebook page earlier today with the message that fans should “EXPERIENCE THE WONDER THAT IS JASON AND THE CUREONAUTS.”

We’ve seen some fairly good webcast footage this summer of the Peter Hook-less New Order playing at various European festivals, but this is far and away the best live film to emerge of the reunited band’s summer touring: a 44-minute reel of footage from the band’s June 21 performance at Berlin’s Tempodrom.

Two weekends ago, Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess brought to life a “virtual cafe” called Tim Peaks Diner at the UK’s Kendal Calling 2012 festival and invited some of his favorite musicians to play. Here we see Burgess and Aztec Camera’s Roddy Frame backing up Edwyn Collins on his1995 solo hit “A Girl Like You.”

The House of Love — who have been largely dormant following a couple years’ worth of activity surrounding the release of 2005 reunion album ‘Days Run Away’ — returned to the stage Friday night for the first time in four years, performing at the Off Festival in Katowice, Poland.
